Yes, I agree with you. There are many people who state their opinions regarding 2012 as though they know for certain that nothing at all will happen. How can they possibly know this?
Are they fortune tellers? Can they actually see into the future? How can they possibly judge a culture that existed thousands of years ago? How can they realistically determine the reason that the calender ends in 2012?
Many are now saying they are feeling an increase in energy levels or vibrations. Why shouldn't the possiblitly exist that these energies will reach a culmination point once our solar system has reached alignment with the center of the galaxy? Perhaps the indigenous people of old WERE onto something? Can we try to keep an open mind? I hate when people say "nothing will happen in 2012". How about using a little tact and saying something to the effect of "I don't BELIEVE that anything will happen in 2012". It also sounds much less arrogant.

Regardless, I believe that something may happen in 2012 and I feel a personal urgency to get my affairs in order so that I will be prepared for whatever will come about. It could be yet another year but it does not hurt to be prepared. Part of dealing with change in life is conditioning yourself to understand that there will be changes and that you may not be able to handle them well at once. It's all about personal validation and looking inside of yourself to analyze your thoughts and figure out how you are going to deal with things.

We all do it every time there's a major change in our lives.

And deep down, I hope that 2012 is the year that we defeat the menaces that control our world, that control power and keep people suffering.

Here, here, brother! (or sister) That is the goal. My hope is that Mother Earth will reach a point in her vibration that'll force the collective consciousness of humanity to ascend to the next level, rendering the controller's power utterly impotent.
