Police action in at a place close to me USA

I have lived up in the "northwoods" for so many years now. To the north a few miles is a place called Canada. Just as close to the east is the great "Big Sky" state of Montana.

My home sits pretty close to the U.S. highways #2 & #95 the two roads meet up in Sandpoint "just to the south". They split up again just to the north of Bonners Ferry.

So here is what went down. Just be aware that even writing this out here to tell you folks about it very well could put some "heat" on me. You see I am a live and let live soul. I grew up in the 60's and was still very young and all that in the 70's. I've been around, used some substances which I am not going to lie to anyone about. <Been there did that>. I do understand the "police thinking" that if they just get one more person that no one will ever have any thing "bad" in their body ever again. So with that said let me explain what (Action) happened here on Friday Aug 28, 2009.. I have a scanner which picks up any of the radio calls made by any of the following. Boarder Patrol, USFS, State Police, County Sheriff, city police, and the fire and EMT calls. On Friday Morning I heard many "new voices" keying up. The following was said.

Yes all cameras are working turn on the sign. It took me a few hours to find out that a huge flashing sign was put up that said. Drug Interdiction ahead dogs will be used.
What I did hear starting right away were things like. Male driver in blue truck reached into his pocket then into bag in back. He removed a can of soda from bag but he may have put something in there. OR Red car has tossed items from passenger side window. On and on all day long they watched the actions of the driver and passengers after they passed the sign then they just kept stopping the cars and trucks which anyone had made any movement like reaching into the console or anything which could be considered as "hiding" something. Over all I lost count howmany people were hauled into the local booking to bond out or be locked up. The charges ranged from littering too possession of things like pipes and some people were charged with possession of drugs. All and all they must have had at least 20 law enforcement people working the area.

Many years ago (16 or more) while working in the school system I was teaching in a class at the high school in comes the head man with the following statement. (this was just after lunch). When the bell rings we are going to go into lock down do not let any student leave this room for any reason and do not let them go out to the next class until the bell rings it will not ring at the normal time.....

When we were doing the class it did not take long for those students who were gifted with intuitive skills to "pick up" on something going on. When the drug dogs started to bark out in the hallway "locker area" things really did get right crazy. I remember more than one student saying what the Heck are they doing looking in our lockers?
At the end of the day one of the students had been to a wedding the week-end before and his car still had some bags of bird seed made up that were not tossed at the new couple. The dogs hit on that!! Seems that hemp is a great seed for birds, and I learned something about bird seed there. Before the student could leave the parking lot he had to give up (tell) who's wedding it was. His parents were called and all kinds of nutty things like that happened on that day.

Anyway... My question is what will be the NEXT type of Interdiction??

I did not know of any of any people who were pulled over. However I did see many police cars parked on the streets around my neighborhood.
