I personally feel the effects of the cellphone as soon as I use it, so can vouch for the damage from experience. It's not as bad when not in use; it does periodically radiate when it sends out what is called a registration message, to let the network know where it is, but this is not continuous, and occurs in a "split second".
If you were able to see all this emf pollution, I imagine it would look like a fog, creating a "noisy" environment for the mind.
