Same here, but unfortunately much of the evidence for UFO/ET phenomena is so nebulous that one must often settle for "believe" rather than "know".
Also, the "Agent Mulder" character in the X-files had the misfortune of having to watch his sister's alien abduction when they were both children. This was obviously very traumatic for him so personally I am inclined to cut him some slack. If he wants to 'believe" rather than know, I am OK with that.
I have met people who claim to "believe" or "know" all kinds of strange things about UFO's, ET's, abductions, etc. Since I have no personal experience with any of these phenomena myself, I maintain an "agnostic" viewpoint on the whole subject. But I also try my best not to be judgmental of others no matter where they stand on these issues.
