Personally speaking, I question the energetic significance of the so called galactic alignment. To my mind, the Mayan Long Count calendar as is associated with the 2012 'end-date' is nothing to do with a galactic conjunction, but instead is a calendar that tracks various planetary conjunction cycles involving the earth, Venus, Mars, and likely also, various other planets. I believe it is connected to earth changes, but, that are caused by planetary conjunctions, such as is alluded to in the writings of Berossos for example.
