Default Re: Come have a sit down with me around the Pot Bellied Stove and talk story.

In all of this knowledge, I have found intense comfort in the moments I spend with my children.
They unintentionally help me to stay in the now, and I so appreciate them for that.

When my son was about 2 1/2, he & my daughter were playing at a friends house 5 doors down.
My friend and I were sitting on my front lawn, discussing Buddhism and the self realization center, her mother was an active buddhist and loved the lifestyle.
About 20 minutes into our conversation, my young son comes taring down the street with a sense of urgency about him..
He stops when he gets to me, puts his hands on his knees and while out of breath says, " Mommy?.....Buddha is your friend."
Then ran back to play.
My friend & I were baffled.
I'm grateful for the random, beautiful moments.
We don't subscribe to any religion, but my son, who is now almost 11, has a thing for Buddha's.
Buys them at yard sales, points them out when he see's them, etc..
Interesting, no?
This is a cozy thread, thank you for your warmth, everybody!

With loving energy~
