I was given one of those activity gifts for my birthday. It was spy school.
The chap told us about a program you can get on the net that you bluetooth to a phone you want to spy on, it will let you listen through the speaker of the phone even if it's not turned on, if a text is sent or received you get a copy of it sent to your phone, if a call is made or received you can listen in with your phone.
He also told us about alsorts of other surveillance techniques
