Canada has some strict legislation about this - not that it's not a problem too, maybe less, with limits. There are the big corp lobbyists...
These companies/corps 'invest' in political contributions for a return. It's just business. Americans seem to think this kind of regulation and oversight is 'communist' or 'socialist'. Sure seems to benefit the 'hidden hand' of the 'market' tho'!!
Also, hands-up votes. Does it not seem weird that voters are named - like the 'sponsors' can make sure their boy or girl did xyz, i.e. paper trail. I think they should be nameless with tallies, anonymous. People can always find out through television or phoning or following the news. The bad guys will know who to pick off. On the other side, accountability.
