Just for fun... We still use "troller" in french Quebec. It comes from the name of the lure, we call it "une trolle". So "troller" means to move the lure in order to attract the fish. Of course, we use also the same verb to express when we, the men, are going out to catch many, many fishes, the more we can get the best it is .
