We too are disappointed with B&K.

On other forums when a member pays - the owner of the forum personally thanks the paying member. Even coming onto the forum to thank members for subscribing on a regular basis and participating is an act of graciousness that one would expect from the owners. It really is sad as they have been asked repeatedly to stop by and say hello. Nada. This lack of visible appreciation or interest toward the volunters and members says far more then any words anyone else can express here.

Subsequently, a number of volunteers who have put in hours and hours of unpaid work behind the scenes... and also were chastised or ignored have backed away with deep disappointment directed toward B&K.

There is an old saying... "you shall know them by their works." Actions, or non-action in this situation, speak louder then words.

As for the value added by being a paying member.. one gets to post and have access to the library. Personally... almost all of us volunteers who run this site think the library should be available for free to everyone as that was the intent when we first got together to create it.

However.. since the subscription no one has been banned or even gotten any infractions. The tone of the forum has changed and it is much more mellow. Much of the focus and energy is a combination of inner spiritual work and working out in the world making it the place where one would want to live.. building relationships, making gardens and focusing on creating something fresh and new.

The excitment of the honeymoon is over and now one is into creating productive spiritually enhancing new inner and outer realities.
