Solar cycle 24 just got started a few days back. The sun announced it with a major solar flare (Big Flare Portends Beginning of Solar Cycle 24).

Actually this raises a very good point. The amish/mennonite/hedorite s have lived well without electricity. Some have electric generators for their shops etc, but do not rely on outside power for...
