I remember reading that Nibiru would be visible by the naked eye by May 2009?!!

Not sure about that, the galactic federation thing and the fact that if it was out shining the sun it should in theory leave the reflection in the water like the sun????? I don't know anything about this whole thing really just airing my thoughts.

Also I was of the understanding that it would only be seen on this date in the most southern parts of the southern hemisphere?????
