Hi peaceandlove-"URL contained a malformed video" it says when clicking on the link.
Pericles was a great bloke-i have read "The state" and "The Peloponnesian wars".General,scientist,philosopher etc.Not meaning that generals and people connected to the war machine are great he was just a great tactician and his crew had faith in him-i remember he led the Athenians to defeat the spartans in a naval war whilst a full solar eclipse was happening-the sailors were in fear of a portent or ill omen but he gained their confidence;held steadfast understanding astronomy etc.
