Re: Why making God unfashionable never works..
I started a new forum ( seems like its in fashion right now!) It focuses completely on Spirituality, i called it The Spiritual World, it may rise or fall i dont mind, i will keep posting anyway, i'm used to talking to myself!! Everyone here is very welcome. :wub2:
http://spiritualworld.invisionplus.n...piritualworld& Thanks to Floyd for finding the site :thumb_yello: PS I will still be posting here as i like this site, to expect a forum to be without disagreement is unrealistic, all personality types are present. |
Re: Why making God unfashionable never works..
Great aroundthetable, I'm thinking of joining that forum too! :thumb_yello:

Re: Why making God unfashionable never works..
Good evening or Good morning,
They will close soon, so that it may be my last visit here. And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more. For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not re- pent, though I did repent; for I that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry but that ye sorrowed to repentance; for you ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. Verse 2 Cor 7:8-9 Kings James Version What wonderful verses that remind us about having boundaries and speaking our truth. There is always safety in the truth, whether it be knowing God’s truth or knowing the truth about ourselves. It is so important to accept and express the truth of who we are. Honesty about who we are gives us the biblical value of integrity. But we can not speak our truth if we do not know our boundaries that precisely delineate what is acceptable for us and what is not. When we speak our truth others can get hurt or we can get hurt. We can be judged or rejected. But those painful feelings of hurt, rejection or judgment lead us where the real growth lies. Through our life we are programmed not to be honest and protect other’s feelings, blocking ourselves and others to grow spiritually. The scriptures teach us otherwise. In March 2007, I discovered Project Camelot. Soon, Project Avalon will close its door forever. I will close this door too because I have learned my lessons here. So my answer for today is asking God to give me the courage to be true to myself today and as long as I shall live. Love to you all,:wub2: t&i |

Re: Why making God unfashionable never works..
T&I as you close your door mine is fully open by your words of wisdom and inspiration. As you said to try and control and edit growth is like trying to prevent nature to go about its business. It does not work. The communist try it for 70 years not much luck. Humans natural growth process is funny because it is so irrational, ooh the ups and then downs and just when you think you understand them then they go to the middle for a total state of unpredictability.
I have come to see this as the beauty of life by which those that have outgrown this stage of our lives should not be offended instead should be reminded once in a while just how we all are just a ship of fools trying to get along with one another most of the time with our foot in our mouth . Irregardless T&I I hope you stick around or pop in once in a while to have a cup of coffee or tea . The words that come from your heart have made an impact on my life thank you so very, very much. Blessings to you and your family ..:original::thumb_yello::wub2::wub2::wub2: |

We dont have to loose our friendship and company Im beginning to think I will have to face the inevitable and join AV2 . Im allready in the Mists of Avalon thanks Dan and visited your place, around the table. Only thing is, we are talking to ones who know quite a bit about various paths so much in common but its a bit like preaching to the choir, not that I would preach would I. My spiritual ego might :mfr_lol: So I feel that we could perhaps make a useful contribution on AV2. Its down to numbers, Avalon is becoming the no 1 info site for people to visit. in a way for myself I dont feel a great need to post but I realize that sharing helps others. The forum here will not close for a while yet. Anyway thats my thoughts. Chris Namaste |

Re: Why making God unfashionable never works..
Thank you my friends for your kind words. :wub2:
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance. Matt. 3:8 King James Bible The lesson that I had to learn here was about forgiveness. I remember when I read Anchor’s post about healing and moving on my body was literally shaken with anger so that I needed to respond to his post to clarify what was my bloody anger all about. There are many layers but the most important is forgiveness. Forgiveness does not mean reconciliation. Forgiveness is a work of grace in our heart. Only one person is needed for forgiveness: me. Reconciliation takes two. So, we do not open ourselves up to the other party until we have seen that she or he truly owned her or his part of the problem. Yes, I was angry and hurt when I witnessed mistreatment and violation of freedom and I really had a big problem to forgive. Seeing that God asks us to forgive but warns us not to reconcile before a person takes responsibility for his or her behavior, I could freely forgive. I can forgive and let them go. If I did not let them go, I would invest all my energy wanting them to change. Ironically, fighting against their control, I would become a controller. I feel so humble seeing the depth of wisdom in the scripture. Love to you all, t&i |
Re: Why making God unfashionable never works..
Hey TAI, the way you write and understand pieces of ancient wisdom really is quite impressive. The point you make above is a real valuable skill to learn. Just that alone can make a great change in the world. All glories to God :wub2:
PS I just have to steal wot you wrote :lol3: Always do things because they should be done, without expectation of the result, good or bad. Thanks TAI :trumpet: |
Re: Why making God unfashionable never works..
aroundthetable,
Thank you my friend. :wub2: Please take whatever you like. We are here to share our deepest nature and to grow together. Love, t&i |
Re: Why making God unfashionable never works..
Yes Truth and Integrity
What you say is so. The act of forgiving is for our benefit, any reaction might lead to reconcilliation but that is not to the point. One of the steps of AA is when wrong promptly admit it. Another. When it is possible to make amends without hurting the other do so. There is so much wisdom in "The Big Book"of AA much obviously came from the teaching of Jesus. If we blame and dont forgive it is literally a poison, some claim that negative emotions are like a cancer in the body and can cause ll kinds of physical and mental --- dis-ease. Still here we are my friends, though I have joined AV2 as well as the mists . Love Chris |

Re: Why making God unfashionable never works..
Chris,
I have joined the Mists too. :thumb_yello: Or, I would rather say, using burgundia’s words, the Misfits. :biggrin2: You are right. There is such freedom when we can see and admit our mistakes. Well, I always say that only dead people don’t make mistakes. Unfortunately, we were programmed that something must be inherently wrong with us when we make mistakes. As a result, we want to protect our sense of self by denying any action that causes pain to others. Regarding negative emotions. I think that it is another aspect of living in this 3 –D polarized reality that results from deep programming. There are no positive or negative emotions or feelings. They are just feelings. In fact, the so called negative emotions teach us about our blockages and when released and understood lead us to the pure and unconditional love. But our society teaches us to do everything to suppress it, therefore, keep us stuck in perpetual pain. :mfr_omg:I will deeply miss this forum. Love, t&i :wub2: |
Re: Why making God unfashionable never works..
Spiritual life is not some haphazard willy nilly process, there are proven techniques passed down over thousands of years that enable the individual living entity to comprehend God and improve ones life in general. It also requires effort, to move beyond theory and rhetoric, learning anything in life requires some effort so of course the ultimate learning process also requires effort.
So all genuine spiritual practices, prayer, meditation, chanting, cleanliness, study, offering and thanking for our food etc etc, help, encourage and enable the living entity to train the mind and intelligence to be positive, nurturing, forgiving and staying on the happy and optomistic side of life. If these prctices were taught more and actually practiced then the world would be a very different place. World regardless, we as individuals can take action in our own lives. Theory is useless if not practiced. |

Thanks aroundthetable All these practices you mention are very powerful. every time you use a mantra or specific chant you are tapping into and adding to that energy. Some of these mantras etc have been chanted for thousands of years, by thousand if not millions of devotees, the build up of energy is phenomenal. I am the change, I want to see. It doesnt get any more personal or powerful than that Things they are a changing, buckle you seatbelts. Love Chris |
