The Light of the World

by Eckhart Tolle
eckharttolle.com

When you are fully present and people around you manifest unconscious behavior, you won't feel the need to react to it, so you don't give it any reality. Your peace is so vast and deep that anything that is not peace disappears into it as if it had never existed. This breaks the karmic cycle of action and reaction. Animals, trees and owers will feel your peace and respond to it.

You teach through being, through demonstrating the peace of God. You become the "light of the world," an emanation of pure consciousness and so you eliminate suffering on the level of cause. You eliminate unconsciousness from the world.

This doesn't mean that you may not also teach through doing – for example, by pointing out how to dis-identify from the mind, recognize unconscious patterns within oneself and so on. But who you are is always a more vital teaching and a more powerful transformer of the world than what you say and more essential even than what you do.

Furthermore, to recognize the primacy of Being and thus work on the level of cause does not exclude the possibility that your compassion may simultaneously manifest on the level of doing, and in effect, by alleviating suffering whenever you come across it. When a hungry person asks you for bread and you have some, you will give it. But as you give the bread, even though your interaction may only be very brief, what really matters is this moment of shared Being, of which the bread is only a symbol. A deep healing takes place within it. In that moment, there is no giver, no receiver.

But there shouldn't be any hunger and starvation in the first place. How can we create a better world without tackling evils such as hunger and violence first?

All evils are the effect of unconsciousness. You can alleviate the effects of unconsciousness, but you cannot eliminate them unless you eliminate their cause. True change happens within, not without.

If you feel called upon to alleviate suffering in the world, that is a very noble thing to do, but remember not to focus exclusively on the outer. Otherwise, you will encounter frustration and despair. Without a profound change in human consciousness, the world's suffering is a bottomless pit. So don't let your compassion become one-sided.

Empathy with someone else's pain or lack and a desire to help must be balanced with a deeper realization of the eternal nature of all life and the ultimate illusion of all pain. Then let your peace flow into whatever you do and you will be working on the levels of effect and cause simultaneously.

This also applies if you are supporting a movement designed to stop deeply unconscious humans from destroying themselves, each other and the planet, or from continuing to inict dreadful suffering on other sentient beings. Remember; just as you cannot €ght the darkness, so you cannot €ght unconsciousness. If you try to do so, the polar opposites will become strengthened and more deeply entrenched. You will become identi€ed with one of the polarities; you will create an "enemy" and so be drawn into unconsciousness yourself.

Raise awareness by disseminating information, or, at the very least, practise passive resistance. But make sure that you carry no resistance within, no hatred, no negativity. "Love your enemies," Jesus said, which, of course, means have no enemies.

Once you get involved in working on the level of effect, it is all too easy to lose yourself in it. Stay alert and very, very present. The causal level must remain your primary focus, the teaching of enlightenment your main purpose and peace your most precious gift to the world.

Re: Murder, Murder, Murder.. Is That All You Know?

Human DNA has been tampered with in the deep past by our ancestors. We were originally created to be a warrior like race to protect our ancestors but we were then sent to Earth in exile. We have been watched ever since. Seeded in the Earth, civilizations rise and fall.

If we can evolve and activate our DNA we can overcome the aggression. But then who will protect us? I guess we will invest in defense technology. There must be a balance in human behavior. But the bottom line is that it is all about control by our governments. With the overpopulation on the rise, there is more competition for survival. This makes it more challenging.

As we reach closer to the center of our galaxy, we will gain an opportunity to advance in our spiritual evolution. When we meet up with our higher dimensional selves, we will awaken. Once the proper technologies are used for good purposes we will be able to solve almost all our problems like curing disease, ending hunger, and creating free energy. Let us hope is not too late. Either way, Humans will learn their lesson either the easy way or the hard way.

P4BLO why always hide on the Australia threads?... come out and play :original:

Its a big forum out there, lots of great threads (and a ton of **** ones)

Would really like to see more of your thoughts.

This thread is a bit negative for my liking but I understand you are asking an important question to resolve an age old dilemma in order to move on to a brighter future for humanity and ultimate peace and prosperity.

The answer is separation.

As long as we see other people as separate from ourselves there will be competition, lust for power, destruction justified as survival of the fittest.
Everything from football teams to fashion promotes the separate, individualistic ideologies.

Im not advocating communism and an identical dress code, just saying that this wont change until we celebrate the things we have in common, and fully understand that what we do to another person we do to ourselves.

What is it that makes human beings do the evil things that we do?
All throughout history and in every civilization there exists brutality, violence, greed and corruption.
Is it something in our genes?
Are we being possessed by some kind of dark entities?
Or is it just a simple matter of choice?
All along it seems that people tend to cross the line.
Maybe it's just business as usual!

There are way too many of those.
But we never hear of them until many years latter.
Imagine! What if this happened to you?

Anyone can murder, but not many have the courage to truly love.

PS: Alex Jones The Obama Deception it's available on YouTube.

Mankind is severely asleep and ignorant. How does one know they are asleep? They suffer. They have forgotten their truth. This is the only reason such behavior exists. We await the Harvest so Humans will graduate to a more aware level of awareness. What a blessing it will be! As you see a reboot is necessary as we have severely lost our way, with the leanings of Governments and the nonsense of Organized religion. It's a retarded situation, and the sooner we graduate to nursery school, the better. As of now we are just animals in the Zoo. Thus we have not had more 'overt' contact. we are just not 'ready'. One simply needs to watch the daily news, to know that.

Re: Murder, Murder, Murder.. Is That All You Know?

what, i think is, the saddest part

is this...
occurs in parts of the world
that hold great history - when the war in iran started
i remember, watching it, on TV
when they bombed out the communication grids
when they bombed some of the oldest building there
in an attempt to stop communication/and, in an attempt
to get rid of proof of ancient ways/and, ancient ways of being
and, erase parts of the world, that NEVER fell before

so much occurs, in a place/or places, that NOT many of us,
would actually ever experience/live, or travel too

i have travelled a lot of world, but, i have never been to
afghangistan (sp?) , iran, iraq ...
and, do NOT actually see what is occuring...
but, it is occuring, never-the-less

the karma that is occuring,
as, a result of what is happening,
is affecting the group collective, of what is !!!

i think, the good part, is that, a lot of us, realise this
and, in very small ways, each and everyone of us,
are shifting, the sad parts

albeit, in this world - it would appear that organised religion,
gas & oil, is NOT just a commodity, but, really a currency
and, war is the biggest business, that there is.

if this was happening in your home tome,
or, within a highly civilized country, in canada/or, the usa
or, somewhere in europe, like say, london/uk, or frankfurt, germany
or, rome,iltay, etc.,
how long would we tolerate it for ???
