Warning: If You Use Citibank

Apparently, Citi is taking preemptive steps to prevent a bank run. If you have a checking account, you may not be allowed to withdraw your money for up to 7 days:

I wonder if this may start a new trend.

if you are unaware China just sold 34.2 billion in treasury bonds they still have roughly 770 billion in them also the auction for treasury bonds last week went over like a lead ballon forcing the FED to raise interest rates its not looking good Citi just called me today my CC payment hasen`t been made yet its ( days overdue and they need the money

Re: Warning: If You Use Citibank

This is a very important thing to watch, as it could be the tide turning for all banks. If this becomes uniform with other banks, there will never be a bank run because they can just give you access to some limit of your balance or delay the withdrawal for another several days...

I seriously doubt that everyone would walk away and patiently wait for their money, people would be furious, maybe they wouldn't be bank runs anymore, more like bank downs or bank burns :)

I wonder if this was done in response to Obama's meeting with the Dalai Lama. I'd like to figure out why the Japanese, whose recently elected government hates the dollar, bought it from the Chinese. They know it's garbage but are they trying to prop up the dollar to keep us (their market) from going bust?

Sorry if I'm wandering off topic here.

Who did China sell the 34.2 billion in treasury bonds to????

Re: Warning: If You Use Citibank

Swanny,
I'd almost bet the Fed Res wound up buying them.

Forget the fact that it is completely illegal for them to do so,
or the fact they've been doing it for almost a year.
Just keep thinking "Green Shoots Happy Thoughts" and things
will turn out... well, like cr@p.

Citi, J P Morgan, and all of the big banks are completely insolvent.

They only persist (exist is too strong a word) because they get to keep robbing billions, and trillions from our grand children.

Re: Warning: If You Use Citibank

here is a more detailed article...

http://www.infowars.com/update-citig...k-withdrawals/

but, what if???

they are putting out this propaganda to create a false flag event, stir up fear and make everyone pull their money out of the banks, thereby designing a collapse of the banks...

I am getting a feeling that we should stay calm and act normal, however my concern is the sheeples... how do we get the word out not to self-generate a panic-run on the banks?

This sell off was back in December and from a trading company in China they say it was sold across to private investors in Shanghai, according to them it is to hide the actual amount they control.

From what the article was saying they are buying them up faster than ever...

so now the question is who spun the media two months after it was done, someone that didn't want them dumping because it would drop the value, or someone that wanted to buy up all they could for as cheap as possible?

Let's see who was the group Fulford was talking about? :wink2:

If you want to see the logical progression for this, look at what is happening with Greece right now and Argentina in the '90s.

The Greeks have pulled 8 billion Euros from banks as the banks increase their financial control measures:

http://www.zerohedge.com/article/gre...ops+to+zero%29

Also in the 1990's, Argentina had a few bouts of hyperinflation. When this happened, the banks made limits on how much money people could withdraw at any one time. Many people went totally bust and some lost as much as 50% - 75% because their money was tied up in the bank while it was being devalued. If you check Adrian Salduchi's Youtube videos, you can get some good details on this.

My point is that we are in a chess game right now that is about to end. Our side (the Western countries including the US and Europe) have a remaining King and a few pawns. As the game progresses, the West can only play defense which is a well defined progression as evidenced by what has already happened in economic history.

We can look on history as a general guide, but I'm of the opinion that a lot has changed since then. People in general are more aware, cosmic energy is spreading the need of proper info, it's only a keyboard away :)
Majority are in debt and this crisis is more personal to most, they wanted to be rich and wealthy, tv said they could and would be, it's not the case anymore.
After falling rocks, change of attitude comes. The purpose is different, although ego is hurting. The passion of the meditereinian people is what can save us all and give perfect example how to act or not. With their high tempers and philosifical aproach to life (long siestas help contemplating :))

as far as Salbuchi he's too much of a fear mongerer to me, he does not give solutions, just scares people with nwo.

You didn't write whose on the other side of the board, for me it's us the people of the world agaist oppressing forces, not east and west, this has nothing to do with it.

Just a heads up, may be unrelated, but here is documentation about 2 billion in canadian bonds involving citigroup, just recently with the corporation of canada:
http://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-ed...lude&count=100 the form 18/K references some sort of global bond and whatnot, anyone know how to read law?:wall:

Re: Warning: If You Use Citibank

If you look at Citigroup's balance sheet then you can see the carnage. The bank is insolvent with its bogus on-balance sheet reporting. When you take its $24T derivative exposure and place that on the books the bank would implode just to fund 1 percent of that exposure.

Goldman, JPMorgan, BofA are all leveraged over 40-1 in the credit default swap market still. Most of that exposure is in interest rate swaps with a total of about $140T.

The banks get cheap money from the Fed and then bet against the US in the currency market with huge leverage.

This explains why the dollar is trading within a tight range as well as gold prices.

Bernanke and Geithner have to prop up currencies in order to keep these banks open.

Mr. Galt has a great ear and translates it well onto the page. His timeline on the dollar demise of hours not weeks is as true.

He said he would stop the motor of the world... and did! :original:

"Who is John Galt?" is the catch phrase of my favorite novel of all time. That's where the blogger got his pseudonym gibonos.

I read only the page you posted, not the whole series.

Indeed. I thought someone might pick up on it :original:

Atlas really is about to shrug, but it isn't the men at the top who are going to take their talents away from the mainstream.
