Making Your Own
The simplest way to control these factors is to make the colloidal silver for yourself. By doing this, you will not know exactly what is there unless you do laboratory testing, but you will have a pretty good idea. Without laboratory testing of commercial products, you don't know much more, because the quality control batch to batch is loose with most brands. Also, by making it yourself, you will end up with real "colloidal" silver, which is the product referred to in most of the literature.

If you are already making your own colloidal silver, please pay special attention to this section because much of the information you now have may be incorrect.

The simplest way to make real colloidal silver at home is by the "low voltage electrolysis" method. A few batteries may be connected to some silver electrodes and placed in a glass of water. This process will cause small particles of silver to be sintered off the electrodes and enter the water. This deceptively simple method is very easy to do WRONG, and most people who are making colloidal silver at home are making an inferior product.

It's In The Water
When you do this yourself, it is very important to control the purity of the water, because the purity of the water is one of the factors that controls how small the particles of silver will be. Only high quality DISTILLED water should be used. You cannot use purified or filtered water because it still has too many dissolved minerals in it. You cannot use deionized water because it doesn't conduct electricity well enough to start the reaction. Distilled water is just perfect to start the reaction slowly and let it proceed properly.

Another variable that influences particle size is the water temperature. The warmer the water, the faster the reaction will take place, and the smaller the particles will be.

The Best Is Yet To Come
The very best voltage for the reaction is 30 volts, because the electrodes run the cleanest at this voltage. If you have a small power supply, set it for 30 volts. If you are running on batteries, it is best to start at 36 volts (three 12 volt batteries or four 9 volt batteries) and let the batteries drain down from there. Holding the silver electrodes at a uniform distance away from each other yields a better product.

When 30 volts is applied across silver electrodes held uniformly apart in distilled water, a totally different event happens. First, the reaction proceeds very slowly. Often, for the first 15 minutes nothing seems to be happening. Then finally, a faint yellow mist will begin to form. Within a few minutes, the reaction will speed up, but the particles produced will be a golden-yellow as viewed with a flashlight. Using this method, 8 ounces of distilled water at room temperature can be made into a 3-5 ppm colloidal silver preparation in 20-25 minutes. Made this way, colloidal silver can cost under 10¢/oz to make. Electron microscope photographs of this product show a silver particle size in the range .001 to .004 microns. During manufacturing, the particle cloud is a golden-yellow. These particles will hang in the water at the level they are produced, and for the most part, will not fall to the bottom of the glass. This is what a "colloidal" preparation of silver looks like. After the particles disperse, the water will look clear again, but may turn a light yellow if the concentration is high enough and after the particles have become evenly dispersed.

That guy said he has turned blue from rubbing it on his skin daily for years. I for one, have drank colloidal silver when I felt like I was near death with stomach viruses and felt better within 15 minutes. I also wouldn't doubt with such a great remedy for anything that the media would do anything to scare people away from it.. That blue guy succcccks and has scared away everyone I know from wanting to drink colloidal silver.

Hello,

I use two stacks of 3 9-volt batteries with distilled water. Works well. A couple observations and questions:
The distance between the electrodes suspended in the water has an influence on the speed of the reaction. Do you know of an optimum distance?

I use two stacks of 3 because one stack of 3 seemed to take a long time. This indicates that the reaction is current dependent as well as voltage. Any idea what the best current is?

The blue skin is from having silver salts which happens from not using pure distilled water, from what I've read. I have a SOTA silver pulser which blood zaps and silver makes :) and I'm not blue.

Also 1 person who is blue with 1000's usin it suggest to me maybe disinformation... I have read it is good for MRSA and that silver threads are being used in the fabrics by the NHS to counter MRSA.

I generally agree with the method being described in this thread. It is very close to what I have doing for the last 10 years.

It is very important that the purest distilled water be used. Never use water that has chlorides in it. If you have doubt, you can test the water with a sample kit you can buy at any swimming pool store (or Walmart) for testing chlorine levels in pool water.

I agree with heating the water. I personally microwave my distilled water for three minutes to make the water as hot and energized as possible.

In my own setup, I have been using 56VDC from a six battery configuration. I do this with the intention of giving my liberated nanoparticles an extra energy boost from the electric field to hopefully rip apart some of the liberated nanoparticles so that some of them turn into monoatomic, super deformed, high spin ORME state atoms.

I also make sure that I do my electrolysis in the dark. I want my silver particles to be as energized as possible. If I've made it correctly, it will have a sweet flavor, similar to caramel. If it has no ORME state atoms, then it tastes metallic. The key is make sure the solution is not made in a lighted environment. If it is exposed to the sunlight, the ORME state atoms flash out.

The other thing I do is filter my solution before putting into a dark blue glass bottle for storage in a dark closet. When doing the electrolysis, black silver oxide will form a feathery looking build up on one of the electrodes. The other electrode will turn brown. You will also see tiny bubbles of oxygen and hydrogen leaving the electrodes as the distilled water is split. This will become more and more obvious as more ions disperse into the water and allow more current to conduct between the electrodes.

There will be a lot of large particles and "floaties" in the water. Make sure you filter all that stuff out, so only the tiniest particles of the good stuff remains in your glass storage bottle. I always filter my silver solution with SEVERAL layers of coffee filter. I want only the very smallest of the nanoparticles and monoatomic silver remaining in my solution.

Always before doing your electrolysis, scrape your electrodes clean with a greeny pad. This will remove that thin silver oxide layer that builds up over time from the silver wire being exposed to air. You want all oxide gone so that only raw pure silver is exposed to your distilled water.

I usually limit my electrolysis between 10 and 15 minutes. After that, I remove the silver wire and then filter the solution. I usually filter twice before I put the solution into my blue glass bottle.

By the way, I'm still using the same silver wire I originally bought in 1998. They are about six inches long and I would guess are about AWG 14 in size (2 square mm).

I hope these small tidbits of detail from my own experience are helpful.

I keep one wire electrode straight so that it runs down the inside of my glass down to the bottom of the water.

The other electrode I bend at the middle and then curve it so that it forms a semi-circle around the inside circumfernece of the glass. In this configuration, the curve electrode is midway down into the depth of my distilled water. The other electrode is on the opposite side of the glass and runs stright down to the bottom.


The current is going to vary. As more ions disperse into the solution, the current is going to increase. My
setup had an LED in the circuit. When I throw the switch, the LED is very dim and over a few minutes it gradually gets brighter. With experience doing this you will eventually figure out at what brightness of the LED you should stop the electrolysis. (Of course if you let the power stay on too long, you eventually flow too much current and will blow out your LED)

If you want to get fancy and add a little more expense to your rig, you can build an ammeter onto your battery box. You can usually get a cheap junk ammeter from any auto scrap yard or electronics salvage store. With an ammeter you get to see a numerical value to your current and determine your own current limit by experience.

Folks, do not try to do any of this with sterling silver. It is impure and contains nickel which is toxic.

You must use ultra pure silver. It must be 99.9999% chemically pure. This is an absolute must, no ifs ands or buts about it!

You have to pay for pure silver. Get your silver wire from some one that is reputable.

You try to be cheap for the silver and you will be asking for trouble.

Good information here and a few other tips that maybe helpful:

1. Use a "glass" glass (not plastic or metal) to make it and store it.

2. You can cut out a cardboard circle to place the two silver wires down
into the distilled water. This helps keep them positioned.

3. The coloidial silver solution can be mixed into juice or other things to help preserve them. People used to put silver dollars in their glass milk jars to help keep it from spoiling.

4. The coloidial silver solution can be used topically on cuts or wounds. People long time ago used to place a piece of silver on a wound.

5. You can buy a steam distiller machine to make your own steam distilled water.

Do make sure you are using pure silver 99.99% pure and you can purchase a flat or round wire at a jelewry supply store.

I agree with the things you listed except the part about mixing it into drinks or juices.

Silver takes on a positive electrical charge when it is an ion floating in the colloidal solution. If you place it into a drink, it will immediately react with the juice and become a salt. Once you have done that, you have ruined it as a medicine. You also risk arygia if you intake and build up photo reactive silver salts in your skin.

The best way to use colloidal silver, in my opinion, is to directly apply drops under your tongue with a medicine dropper. This allows the nanoparticles to diffuse into your body through the cheek lining of your mouth and get into your blood stream. Doing it this way also reduces the opportunity for the silver to get scavanged by chlorides and other negatives ions that cause the silver to become a salt.

I have followed the ancestors..
Otherwords, i keep water in glass jar couple of days in order to get rid of
all nasty materials or most of them...
Thats something i have learned from growing sensitive plants...a fact..
Then i place 2 pieces of 20cm long and 1cm thick 99,99 silver bars in it...
They cost about 200 euros when i bought them....
Effects ? not blue and not sick.....never...
Well sometimes when whole family around is sick or fellows in the work i feel like coming sick but thats all folks...

If you wish to purchase the colloid directly, I recommend SUPER SILVER SOLUTION. It is a slightly different process for its manufacture, it doesn't oxidize when exposed to light quite so quickly, so it's great for your pet's water bowl.

I use distilled water, slightly warmed in a cup that is glass.
I turn it on and set timer for 40 minutes.
I have mine run at 1.5 milli Amps (lowest , finest setting)
When done, you stir it a tiny bit and drink it all.
Yes it tastes like butt! hahahaha but it works!

I have not been sick since.
I have tested it on my wife when her throat started hurting and it cured her with one dose over night. She was back to work next day.

I found that the best and easiest way was to buy a pair of .99999 pure silver electrodes, as mentioned previously (from Silver Well), i use one x 9 volt battery (you can use up to 3 all snapped together by their treminals) with a battery snap connector, and on the end of the wires of the connector i attached miniature alligator clips which i attach to the silver electrodes which are suspended (spaced 30 mm apart) in the 250 ml glass of water (make sure they don't touch) and leave for about 5 mins at normal room temperature.

This was my first method, prior to making up a unit that utilised a 600 ml straight sided glass jar (Fowlers Vacola Jar).
I later purchased a relatively cheap TDS metre (Total dissolved Solids Metre) so i could monitor the strength of the Co;;oidal Silver solution being made, and could make whatever strength i wished consistently.

I would advise anyone wanting to make their own to watch the Beck Video on the site i had mentioned, and to read up on all they can, it will make it so much easier for you.

I had noticed some-one else used quite a few 9V batteries in their setup, but i have stayed away from that as i had read that too high current is likely to produce ionic silver rather than colloidal silver.

colloidal silver works. the problem with it is that the crooks and con
artists have given it a bad name. if it didn't work for you the reason
is you didn't have colloidal silver. the FDA did a survey of 36 brands
of colloidal silver. of those tested only 6 had ANY measurable silver
content. of those only ONE had the advertised amount. so it is critical
that you make your own to be assured that you are using colloidal
silver.

colloidal silver is easy to make. .
1) you need DISTILLED WATER. why not make at least a gallon batch? or
better yet 5 gals. since you buy distilled water in those sizes. since
distilled water does NOT conduct electricity you will need a couple
grains of salt added. you can use this first batch externally however i
advise against using this first batch internally but you can use some as
a STARTER for subsequent batches.
make a glass full then add a tablespoon to the larger amount to get it
going.
2) silver dis-associates beginning at 9.37 volts. while 2ea. 9vdc
batteries in series does work they are quickly depleted. for a more
durable method we use a common WALL WART. the plug in wall transformer
we all have a bunch of. the BEST are 12vdc output and at least 1 WATT
but 5+ is even better. i also use a SOLAR powered CS generator as well
as one that plugs into a common vehicle cigarette lighter and another
that clips to a auto battery.
3) you MUST use .999 fine silver. NOTHING LESS than .999 fine. while you
can use ANY .999 silver the best configuration is FLAT RIBBON as IONS
flow best off edges/points.

insert the silver into the water. make sure the elements don't touch
each other and that the alligator clips are not in the water. connect
the wallwart ( you've put alligator clips on the wires) and plug it in.
as stated you will see "SMOKE" bieng emitted.

when there is OBVIOUSLY colloidal silver in the container it's done.
DON"T get obsessive about PPM etc.... studies indicate 5PPM CS is
ENOUGH. when the water has the appearence of having a couple drops of
milk added it's ready to use. it's common practice to use a LASER to
view the CS. shine the LASER through it. when you can see it in the
water it's ready. thats called the TYNDAL EFFECT. heres what it looks
like

the time needed varies with the silver size, voltage, wattage etc.
usually about half hour as i describe. TIP: clean the elements with a 3m
brightener pad immediately after use before the blue discoloration
hardens.
if you want to measure the PPM use a HANNA meter ( $12)

while colloidal silver is truly miraculous for healing it is even more
so as a PREVENTATIVE. ... DRINK AS MUCH AS YOU WANT. it won't possibly
harm you. we have taken HUGH AMOUNTS DAILY for over a decade. the only
side effect is PERFECT HEALTH. we use approx. 5 gallons weekly. for
instance i bottle my own distilled water for drinking. i put an OUNCE of
CS in EVERY BOTTLE.i drink several daily. the CS keeps them fresh
tasting. we use it for every use stated in my blog.

store in glass container out of the light if possible. store in plastic
for a couple months only as it plates the silver out. but some have
tested this and swear it lasts as well in plastic.
take colloidal silver BY ITSELF. do not make tea with it etc. theres no
reason. CS is nearly tasteless. i say nearly because some people can't
taste it but some can. heating does nothing to it.
since CS attaches to organic matter you weaken it by making tea with it
etc. best taken on empty stomach. by itself.
i have made thousands of gallons of CS. i know hundreds of DAILY USERS.
ALL have similar experiences. not only does it work EVERY TIME but it is
QUICK and SURE! you will have NO DOUBT about it's effectiveness.
make it! pass it around! Spread the word. teach others how to make it.
this is truly miraculous stuff. the TRUTH is that COLLOIDAL SILVER is a
SUPPRESSED MIRACLE REMEDY ! no if's an's or buts about it.

do not beleive this ********! just because someone says they took
colloidal silver and it turned them blue does NOT mean it's true. EVERY
person who ever got argyria that you have seen in the media did NOT take
COLLOIDAL SILVER. do some investigation for yourself! take for instance
the most recent BLUE GUY who was on OPRAH WINFREY. did you see what he
took? it looked like a glass of MUD! that was NOT COLLOIDAL SILVER. just
because he called it that didn't make it so. EVERY blue person you can
find will say, if you read thier stories, that they made extremely
strong drink. always dark grey to black in color and took an enormous
amount of it for extended periods. COLLOIDAL is a state of matter
narrowly defined by particle size and concentration. COLLOIDAL SILVER is
nearly colorless, invisible to the naked eye. THATS WHY we need to use
LASERS or HANNAH METERS to assure we have actual colloidal silver.

what those quacks made was SILVER SOLUTION NOT COLLOIDAL SILVER. silver
solution will cause argyria. but even so it takes ingestion of a large
amount over an extended time. Theres NEVER been a proven case of argyria
from properly made COLLOIDAL SILVER taken in reasonable amounts. NEVER!

I personally have taken an ounce daily first thing in the morning for
12+ years. ditto for my wife. I know DOZENS of others who have done
similar. no one has turned blue. the only noticable side effect is
PERFECT HEALTH. ALL of them haven't even had the sniffles since they
began taking PROPERLY MADE COLLOIDAL SILVER.

heres the EASIEST and cheapest way to do it. it's simply a 9 volt
battery terminal which has been divided into two seperate wires. i got
mine from my junk box. slit the terminal open with scissors. i put a dab
of 100% clear silicone caulk on each terminal where the wire connects
for strength so the wires don't break from use.

it don't get any easier than this. the only problem is the batteries are
depleted after a few gallons of CS.

you can do the same with a CIGARETTE LIGHTER PLUG. works even better
because it's 12vdc and will work anywhere you have access to a cigarette
lighter plug.

you can also do the same thing with a small solar cell or even just two
pieces of wire hooked up to ANY electrical source of 9 volts or greater.

Can any one help I got the silver wire from eBay as suggested I also got a note with that wire saying that chemicals have been used on the silver chemicals like anti tarnish to keep the silver looking good.

Can someone tell me how do you clean the silver before you start the colloidal silver process?

Thank you all for this thread. I just ordered a litre from a friend of mine. I plan to use it for Fibromyalgia, among other things. She gave me a fantastic price, and I trust her. Hmm..now she is talking about making gold collodial. It will be more expensive, of course, but I wonder if any of you have heard of it. Namaste

The device on the right is a TDS meter, so I can tell how many parts per million I have managed.

This one is weak solution - it took about 9hrs to brew, starting from home steam distilled water. The rig I used was from an Aussie distributor (www.silverwell.com.au), but I think they are made in the US.

It looks pale yellow. I get a good tindal effect if I shine a laser through it. I have enough 99.99% pure silver to make about 400L if I need to, and the solar power to do it whatever happens.

I have been reviewing the various recommendations here and elsewhere on the interwebs and there appears to be some inconsistency and inaccuracy presented regarding the purity of silver required in the electrodes. The confusion is in the number of 9's used to describe the purity, and whether or not the description is a percentage or not.

From my reading the baseline purity is that the silver used for the electrodes must be 99.99% pure, alternately referred to as 9999+, short for 9999 parts to 10000 of silver, rest is impure, also seen as 999.9/1000!

Bullion grade silver is only 99.9% (999+) pure which allows enough impurities to potentially cause problems. You would probably only want to do this if it was an emergency and if you didn't have the right silver, but you were not planning long term treatment.

Use of most silver coins not recommended. There are exceptions to this (Canadian Maple for example, which is 9999 pure) but most are only 999 pure or worse. For example: Brittania grade silver (used for UK bullion coins) is only 97.5% (975) pure and Sterling silver is only 92.5% (925) pure. With these coins you still get your troy oz's of silver, but it is an alloy, the coins weigh in at more than their Troy oz content due to the addition of other metals to toughen them up. Don't make electrodes out of these!

It is possible (but very expensive) to get 99.999% pure silver. This is very rare and specialized material. Personally I wont be doing that. By my estimate the equivalent size to the ones I have in 99999 silver would be AUD$200 or more, when the 9999 electrodes are AUD$25 and seem good to me.

In general 99.9% is not thought by many as really pure enough if you intend on taking lots of the colloidal silver internally over a long time. Personally I agree with them, but as ever there is no hard research to back this up, just hearsay. I do think there is a case for moving to the next higher grade (9999) as this reduces the impurities by a factor of 10.

Hi, i used 30 volt DC,and the way i did it is as follows:first i got water for injection(distilled water works as well) and i heated it up in the microwave until it started to boil,then i took my silverrods(pure silver 99,99999) and sunk them down in the heated water and run the 30 volts thru it,the volume was about 70 centiliteres, i did not add any salt to the water, after 10 minutes i heated it again in the microwave (until it started to boil),after the first 10 minutes the water had not turned yellow, but after the next 10 minutes it started to shift in to yellow, and i heated it again and then it got to be the right color, first when i tasted the water, it tasted a bit like metal, but that`s because my silver was low in my body,after a few days it tasted almost like normal water, the thing is, when i did my silverwater it worked best when i used a jugg that had almost straight sides,and the silverrods,aproxametly(sorry for my spelling) 2-3 centimeteres apart,anyone can di this,i bought my silver from the company that deliveres to all the jewelerystores, they have the"finesilver" that is needed for making colloidalsilver, nothing but the purest silver is good enough, i bought 3 meters (2-3mm in diameter)of silverrod,it cost me 700 kr. and that is in dollars aprox. 100 dollars i think.golden color is the key and pure water(distilled) the heat makes it alright,no need for salt.30 vdc i have found works the best.kari

Quick Update:

After a weeks, "risky" research, I can confirm that my 8ppm CS brew when used in one a spray bottle makes excellent under-arm deoderant.

The only cosmetics in my bathroom now are soap, shaving soap, toothpaste, shampoo and colloidal silver.
