Re: A brief list of survival supplies

Why does nobody mention this water filter = Katadyn Pocket
50.000 liters of water before it quits, used by the military.
Might seem expensive, but is the cheapest per liter.

Light = Petzl Tikka Plus
Has multiple brightness levels, the lowest level lasts long and is bright enough.

Seriously waterproof and durable bags = Ortlieb
They have many types of bags.

After 6 months in the wild you should be boiling up and in a more permanent camp where you can use a fire to rolling boil your water. Filters are allw ell and good for short to medium term 'out and about in the boonies', but for long term you need to be looking at going back to very basics and using good old fashioned fire.

Re: A brief list of survival supplies

True, but I'd rather have an easy solution with me for the first period after a disaster (your head is probably spinning of it), make a plan, travel if needed, find certain people and when a safe location is found with a good group of people, make long term plans.

Besides, my survival backpack = my holiday backpack :) And when money is not that big of a deal, I'd rather ensure that the few things I carry, are of good quality.
