Re: Will you leave if the forum is a Paid Subscription?

People leaving due to the pricipal factor, thats fine. Everyone has a choice.

People who cannot pay $1 a month ... this I find really worrying. Are there truly users on this forum who cannot donnate $1 a month for the service that is being provided??

Peace
Iain

ps. Any Mods - can you give us a timeline here of when this is to start please? Then everyone can make their decision and move on.
Cheers

It saddens me to see this Avalon fall apart.:tears:
So I created an alternative for anyone who can't afford it.

Sharing information should be free!!

http://unhypnotize.com/ A subscription free forum!! All are welcome!!

If I can afford to make a subscription free forum why can't Avalon?

This forum, projectavalon.com, doesn't know what they have and are about to lose it. Free speech is number 1. Free sharing should also be number 1. We will never have paid subscriptions. Paid subscriptions never work. I know this because I am a forum owner and it backfires every time. This new forum was created specifically for the Project Avalon users who cannot afford or refuse to subscribe to Avalon. By forcing users to pay to post, limits the amount of information that is available. ALL are welcomed at unhypnotize.com. A FREE open forum to share ideas and information.

People come here because of the work that both Kerry and Bill did at Camelot. That work is not ending and neither is the info that is being generated here by them or our team. Anyone can read for free at any time.

Actually, you know some thing, I just sat and thought about it.

I read the news papers. In order to read them i pay for them. I pay a £1.40 a day.

If I ditch the papers and subscribe here... i'll have real news, real people, and interaction with like minded folks.

I cannot believe it took me so long to figure that out....

DOH!

But the sources of information will be severely limited! Yes anyone can READ it, but they can't contribute. I own 9 forums, I have tried subscriptions, it has dropped interactive users to 10-15 %. Without users you don't have a forum!

The definition of forum is: a public facility to meet for "open" discussions.

Its no longer OPEN when you force people to subscribe. So its no longer a forum.

I retract my vote, after a week of reading posts related to this topic as well as Bill and Kerry's comments, I will definitely be staying on here.
