Avalon members in the military?
Hi all,
I've been wondering for a while, as there seems to be such a diverse gathering of people on the forum, if there are many members that are in or were in the armed forces? If so, do you feel better prepared to deal with these uncertain times? Thanks... |

Re: Avalon members in the military?
I'll take that as a no then... Well i for one, for as long as i can remember have felt that something was coming, something i needed to be ready for...
I joined the army to take what i could to help me be better prepared. I've been out now for 3 years but i feel that it was the right thing for me to do... We're all walking a path leading to where? only time will tell |

Re: Avalon members in the military?
Hi Alterego, not so fast !!! I think that those who currently are in the forces are just a "little" nervous about disclosing that info and that is cool.
In South Africa we all had to do military duty up until about 1994 or so. Did it better prepare me for anything? In certain ways yes and in other ways it was probably detrimental. Don't ask about what my involvement was as that isn't up for discussion. Let's just say I hated the military with a passion and the feeling was definitely mutual. Cheers |

Well in case there are any military members, current or former, lurking about...
Thank you. Your heart is in the right place and I know you love the people of this country. You have my support even if I don't support the war. Much love and respect. |

Re: Avalon members in the military?
I did ten years in the US Navy.
Does it prep me any more than anyone else? Maybe. More than anything I have CONCRETE knowledge the the government is all smoke and mirrors. As I have been directly told that, "Civilians don't need to know." |

Re: Avalon members in the military?
I was in the US Navy in the 70's. I operated machinery in a ship engine room. I learned alot about how various machines work (turbines, pumps, etc). That could certainly be useful in certain conditions. I have no special "insider" knowledge from being in the military.
