DOOMED COMET: A newly-discovered comet is plunging toward the sun and probably will not survive. The encounter is too close to the sun for human eyes to see, but the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) is able to monitor the action using an opaque disk to block the sun's glare. Click on the image to launch a 12-hour time-lapse animation:

The doomed comet is probably a member of the Kreutz sungrazer family. Named after a 19th century German astronomer who studied them in detail, Kreutz sungrazers are fragments from the breakup of a giant comet at least 2000 years ago. Several of these fragments pass by the sun and disintegrate every day. Most are too small to see but occasionally a big fragment--like this one--attracts attention.

No question: We live in a very interesting time...

This is going to be really interesting. Who wants to bet that it will/will not disintegrate before impact?

what may happen here - as a result of it hitting the sun or disintegrrating in the vicinity? does anyone have an idea?

Nothing will happen. This piece looks big, but all comets look big viewed this way. I doubt that it will be more than a drop falling into the ocean.
I expect it to disappear any moment.
There is no large CME into its direction; the hypothesis postulating that is obviously not correct.

A really stubborn piece. Who knows...
There is obviously heavy traffic on the SOHO server.

Interesting to say the least. What purpose do these objects serve?

This brings to mind again for me information I came across that eluded to a peirod of our time where there would be many ET races and their scientists observing us and our solar system. This is due to simultaneous and unique events/energies that our solar system will encounter during the same period of time. This is apparently out of the ordinary and hasn't occurred in millions of years. What that is exactly, who knows?...Not us. This would help explain the increase in sightings and experiences which then corroborates with the ship count on the Something's Brewing thread (although that is still a lot of ships).

The only way I can see these as some form of an evacuation is to evacuate lifeforms, material or something significant from all the planets and/or moons in our solar system. If we're being lied to about ourselves, origins, and ET's coming here, then we are and would be lied to about other life that exist in our solar system.

With all that in mind, the pondering can become almost limitless. I started pondering some of the following:

1. Energy or gas harnessing devices for capturing data on how the sun is being affected by these extraordinary energies?

2. These spheres could be actually manipulating the suns behavior for better or for worse. They could be trying to quell a major eruption of harmful solar flares, energies, or magnetic influences?

3. Now on the flip side of #2, are they being used to provoke certain behaviors by malevolent beings?

4. Are these somehow part of a "Biblical Seal" in place for a predetermined activation?

5. Are they somehow creating or manipulating the sun magnetically to slightly alter the suns position, differential rotation?

This is a good time to be alive, no? Aside from the poor planetary conditions here on Earth (deception, famine, etc).

I thought this was interesting enough to migrate here from the PA2 thread, so all can see it. Based on this interview(legit or not), some of my ponderings were not too far off.

Curious to know if the Sun has always not been accessible via Google Sky? If you type in all the other planets, there is an image provided and updated as of 3/27/10, but if you type in Sun, there's no image??

Just curious

While recently watching a Dan Winter presentation from 2002 he mentioned something that I found quite interesting.

He said that comets (Hale Bopp etc) can and have been used by extra terrestrials as towing machines for artificial planetoids (or parasitic sun cruisers). These planetoids are typically inhabited by Dracos (Draconians?), and released into orbit between mercury and the sun.

Whats interesting is that many of the comets entering our solar system have near perfect elliptical orbits around the sun which many see as evidence of intent.

Maybe someone has some interesting comet images with strange artifacts which could be cross checked against the NASA sun images.
