Default Poland's government cautious about the flu vaccine...

The Ministry of Health has announced that the government is not going to buy the flu vaccine aginst the A/H1N1 virus, unless they are sure about its safety.
The pandemic committee recommends to start vaccinations but only after gathering all information about its safety and possible side-effects. Ewa Kopacz the Minister of Health, has said that she has doubts regarding the purchase of the vaccine. They know about the agreements signed by various countries with the pharmaceutical companies, and there are moot points in the agreement between the Polish government and the pharmaceutical company.
The deputy minister of health has also said, that they are going to bring up to the European Parliament, the issue regarding the unwillingness of pharmaceutical companies to sell the vaccine in the open market and selling it directly to governments.
They also have raised the question why pharmaceutical companies do not want to take responsibility for potential side-effects,while saying that the vaccine is so wonderful.
The deputy Minister Fronczak said that in one of the countries 2 people died from the swine flu and four after having been vaccinated.
he said that the swine flu is milder than the seasonal flu. The information is based on the cases treated in Poland. The number of flu cases in Poland, so far, is much lower when compared with the previous years.

WOW!!!!!

I think the deaths they speak of is in Sweden.

As far as I'm aware, 2 people have died of swineflu and 5 people have died shortly after getting the flu-shot. However, the shot itself is not considered cause of death...of course not! :P

There was also 1 death here in Norway, young woman, that died 3 days after getting the shot. Vaccine not to blame there either, according to those that claim to know.

And to compare the lowest death rate ever in sweden of seasonal flu was in 1987 when "only" 49 people died. So this swine flu thing is a joke.
Other years in sweden something like 300-400 people die from "normal" flu, in a country with 9 million inhabitants.

Apparently, the government loosened their grip on Tamiflu starting yesterday because doctors was prescribing too little of it. Now everyone can get it prescription free as long as they fill out a form where they declare that it is not to be used for certain age groups and people sensitive to the drug.
Sick people and people with other conditions will get served first, then everyone else can have what's left.

Yesterday evening it was reported that the packs of tamiflu already in stock here, are closing in on expiration date. It's stated in the pamplet that follows the drug that it is not to be used after the printed expiration. However, Norwegian government made a decision to extend the printed date with 2 additional years!

Apparently, if your milk is due to go sour in 1 week...just make a decision and it'll last you another couple of weeks! It's great!
