Question Herbal/vitamin restrictions

Just received this

We have been asked to forward the following information to our members and, whilst we do not usually agree to such requests, we wanted to ensure you were aware of the situation so you can act if you wish:

Here is a petition to the Prime Minister to oppose the adoption of the Codex Alimentarius (WHO/UN) proposals for restriction of the presently freely available herb/vitamin/mineral food supplements.

Margaret Rothwell, the petition creator, adds:

"The principle of self medication with herbal/vitamin/mineral food supplements would be restricted to 'prescription only' status, if the Codex Alimentarius is applied in this country.

Since the NHS priorities are ill health diagnosis and treatment, the good health preservation that supplements provide will be inaccessible to the majority of our population and the cost to the NHS will increase, and the health of the population will decline."

If you feel guided to sign the petition, please go to:

We believe it would be disastrous if vitamins, herbs and food supplements were no longer available other than on prescription, and feel that such measures would impose serious restrictions upon the way in which many chiropractors choose to practice. Whether you opt to sign the online petition or not, can we suggest that you forward it to your own contacts? Thank you.

Best wishes,

Yip, they're at it again! Those friggin' idiots at Codex Alimentarius! (nasty blighters indeed!)
In my country they tried to introduce a Trans-Tasman Therapeutic Goods Agency which effectively was trying to control the sale of herbs and vitamins too (obviously to make it easier for drug companies to turn a profit!) but there was too greater an opposition to it so now we have these other govt idiots called Medsafe who are on a witch-hunt against many Natural Health Practitioners and Vitamin and Herb companies. It is really a sham that these govt monsters can do this but enough people are against them and sometimes the light does indeed triumph over the dark!

The codex is stealthed in on an international cg EU level.
The provision in the WTO that any country that has not implemented the codex will automatically lose a trade dispute with a country that has implemented it, regardless of the merrits of the case, will force all countries to implement the codex for economic reasons. I don't see what petitions to governments like this could do, even in the case they would actually get an ear.

I found this was more informative and he also seemed 'less' extreme than that lady...

Food as medicine is something to consider also...
