Default Time magazine names Bernanke "Person of the Year" BAARF

Guilty as charged...I did not do a search and lo and behold this same news was posted by RASKAR AS AR in Off-Topic at Project Camelot Forum earlier today!!! My apologies. Scroll down though for Karl Denninger commentary and Ron Paul response.

Right, Bernanke influenced the world the most...right into a monetary quagmire!

Time magazine names Bernanke "Person of the Year" *Baarf

By Mark Felsenthal – 10 mins ago

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke was named Person of the Year by Time magazine on Wednesday, a highly visible show of support at a time he seeks to beat back proposals that would erode the central bank's authority and independence.

Time credited Bernanke with creative leadership that ensured 2009 would be a year of recovery, however weak, rather than a catastrophic second Great Depression.

Are these people kidding?

Probably the same people who awarded Obama the peace prize.

Calling The Time's "Person Of The Year": Jackass

Now we got a problem.

Bernanke was named Time's "Person Of The Year" http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/344416...y-today_people in doing so Time has added him to their illustrious list of persons....

Whether Bernanke wants to be in the company of these individuals is another matter. Here's the list of those who I believe have as their legacy that which most-closely approximates what Bernanke will be known for 10 or 20 years hence:

PHOTOS posted in article, see link below...

Why? Because Bernanke's actions have singularly done more damage to the American economy - and America - than anyone in the history of this nation. He clearly eclipses Nixon in his dissembling, while making a mockery of the free market.

Just like those other infamous persons pictured above he has acted in the belief that he can do so without consequence on the world stage.

This notion is not easily disabused, but in the end it always proves false.

Today's lesson in falsity is the announcement, long rumored, by the Gulf States that they will be forming a common currency http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/e...-hegemony.html breaking the formal and informal dollar pegs that have controlled the price of oil and kept the petro-dollar recycling mill operating, allowing The United States to force our inflationary policies down the Arabs' throats.

Gulf petro-powers to launch currency in latest threat to dollar hegemony

The Arab states of the Gulf region have agreed to launch a single currency modelled on the euro, hoping to blaze a trail towards a pan-Arab monetary union swelling to the ancient borders of the Ummayad Caliphate

By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard
Published: 7:12PM GMT 15 Dec 2009

“The Gulf monetary union pact has come into effect,” said Kuwait’s finance minister, Mustafa al-Shamali, speaking at a Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) summit in Kuwait.

The move will give the hyper-rich club of oil exporters a petro-currency of their own, greatly increasing their influence in the global exchange and capital markets and potentially displacing the US dollar as the pricing currency for oil contracts. Between them they amount to regional superpower with a GDP of $1.2 trillion (£739bn), some 40pc of the world’s proven oil reserves, and financial clout equal to that of China

It is so obvious this is their attempt to thwart the End the Fed movement, or at least the push for disclosure of the way they use/abuse our money.

This truly is laughable for those us us who aware of what is going on behind the scenes Actually, it deserves this little guy instead

Let's give TIME magazine a round of aplause for mastering RE-DIRECTION of focus. Ah , a knight in shining armor , hang on I have to throw up, o.k. all done.

On grades I would consider Bernanke a Z . Why did we so called need bernanke , oh thats right to help more financial (aka pieces of shxx) steal hard working peoples money and here's the best part, we needed to take out a loan from other countries to cover the loss. Hang on have to throw up again, O.K.

So let me get this right, I have one buddy who retired from the phone company, had 4- retirement funds and 3 of them completely vanished, I have a buddy doctor who watched his retirement of 2 mil disappear because he said as the wall street crowd says, don't worry it'll come back. And one of my workers , his dad lost his entire retirement to the enron crash. Did you see that one of the past employees of Enron is the largest landowner of colorado now. Hang on have to hurl one more time.

And so now we have a man of the year , (time to take a #2) who saved us from all of this . The only question I have now is who were the creative beings that are living in the bubble who even made this decision . Yes a new motto for Time Magazine- " The new toilet paper for 2010. "

Inflation Fears Boost Gold Prices

By Alix Steel 12/16/09
NEW YORK (TheStreet)

Inflation worries shook markets after the producer price index jumped 1.8% in November. During times of inflation, the U.S. dollar loses value and investors buy gold as an alternative asset buoying prices. Investors are also waiting on the result of the Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting. The Fed is expected to keep interest rates low for now but there is a growing consensus that the Fed will raise rates sooner than expected to combat growing inflation.

Hi Jonathan,

Speaking of Mussolini.....

Ben Bernanke is Time's Person of the Year. Is he doomed?

In picking Ben Bernanke as Person of the Year, Time magazine hopes to do better than the last time it anointed an economic mastermind.

By Laurent Belsie Staff writer / December 16, 2009
Christian Science Monitor

So, Ben Bernanke is Time's new Person of the Year. Let's hope it turns out OK.

The last time the August publication honored a national economic mastermind, it was 1933. And things ended badly.

Brig. Gen. Hugh Johnson seemed a good choice at the time. True, he seemed a fan of Mussolini - he distributed the writings of one of the Italian dictator's fascist economists. But he had also helped set up the World War I draft and the Army's war procurement from the private sector. An avid New Dealer anxious to root out destructive competition, he was President Roosevelt's choice to administer the National Recovery Administration.

Continues: http://www.csmonitor.com/Money/new-e....-Is-he-doomed

EXCERPT:

Bernanke must wind down the monetary stimulus without throwing the economy in reverse, keep inflation from heating up and the dollar from collapsing.

That's a tall order, even for a Person of the Year. America — and Columbia business school dean Glenn Hubbard — will be watching every move he makes.

Every Breath You Take

Illuminati Symbolism Personified

Columbia Business School's Dean Glenn Hubbard sings about wanting Alan Greenspan's job that went instead to New Fed Chair Ben Bernanke. Parody created by Columbia Business School students.

Person of the Year: Ron Paul

(What do you think of the symbolism on the Time's cover including a sun like symbol surrounding Bernanke's head with radiating rays of dollar bills. LOL)

People often mistake being named Time's "Person of the Year" as an honor, but that men as sinister as Adolph Hitler, Josef Stalin and Rudy Giuliani have all been given the title suggests otherwise. According to Time, the award is primarily a recognition of influence and by that measure the 2009 selection of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke makes sense. Explains Time, the Fed is "an independent government agency that conducts monetary policy, which means it sets short-term interest rates - which means it has immense influence over inflation, unemployment, the strength of the dollar and the strength of your wallet." Powerful and influential indeed.
