Peaceful isent it.

Used to love when I played in a band coming home to Inverness three in the morning, so still so quiet. I owned the world at that moment.

Off back to bed.

Here there are so many posting that there is always something going on that inspires comment. Not easy to get inspired over there yet as it all tip toe agreeable.
No doubt that will change soon enough.
Bye for now.

I can see why quite a few people lurk.
I may well go back to it.
There is not really much more that can be said about the ego, love it surrender it up to the tender mercies of God and leave the rest to Him.

Hi Friends
I have bumped this to the front again.
Ive nor added anything.

Reason.
There are an amazing amount of good posts on the thred, many at the front.
Overcoming transcending the ego is crucial at this time.
If we had there would not have been the fiction seen on this forum recently.
Only the ego promotes fear, only the ego enjoys strife.

This tread may disolve into the ether when Avalon becomes Av2.
So please read from page one, take your time revisit.
Please Please Please

Can we even exist in this dimension without an ego? Is it necessary to have an ego to hold our sanity together?

I felt, maybe I lost my ego once after taking a very special drink in Ecuador. If this was the case, I don't think I would want to exist ego-less in this reality for very long. It would be amazing in other places, but maybe this place wasn't designed for an ego-less state as we would not learn certain lessons... maybe on how to strive for egolessness?

Just a thought. Namaste, Jia.

I appreciate your concerns.
We have teachers in an egoless state and they have been active or inactive in this world.

Eckhart Tolle author of The Power of Now is in that state but active.
He rarely talks of ego because he realises their will be resistence to letting it go.
However the ego cant survive in the NOW.
So if his sugestions are followed then the ego less state will occur naturally.

Dr David Hawkins in various books a trilogy starting with "Power vs Force" goes in to detail as to how the ego came about as a necessary survival mechanism for a lower state of consciousness, we are in the process of evolving from a lower state to a higher one, the ego is becoming redundant.

My friend 14Chakras recommended a book "The Christ is Born in You" by Kim Michaels.
Christ consciousness is an enlightened state, we are moving into that state now but need the energy/ teachings flowing from those who are in that state to lift us beyond where we find ourselves now, at least till we find the truth of these teachings, which have been there since time began, that Truth is within every single one of us and found through meditation, prayer, forgiveness, the first two commandments of the bible.

More on the ego
The Heisenberg Principal is, that which is observed by consciousness is changed.
Only observation is necessary, an awareness that is beyond thought holds the power.
Its a very complex subject which Hawkins goes into in some depth.
The kinesology technique that backs up Dr Hawkins subjective experience connects to the field of consciousness in which every event though and deed since time began is recorded. Using the test there is a yes or non yes response to a statement. Basically anything that does not exist, is not supportive of life, is an illusion, causes the muscle to go weak and everything that is true/ life supporting causes the muscle to be strong.
For various reasons only about 15% of the populous can use this test with accuracy.
Now the ego
The thought that I am a me is very powerful because we are infatuated with the me story.
Anything that comes and goes is not Truth. Ultimate Truth is unchanging. Truth cant change.
Thoughts have a wave form but they are not us. till we identify with the thought as mine.
Eckhart Tolle says Descartes had it backwards. "I AM THEREFORE I THINK" is more correct.
Its very complex unless you are very precise in the context of a statement.
What is true from one view point, at one level of understanding is not true at another.
Ultimate truth is only God is.
Then its a step down principal.
Very top is Ultimate God who is pure love and does nothing.
Next is God of creation who is busy moment by moment.
There are the Angels
There are the Avatars
There are the enlightened
Then there is the human race in various levels of vibration from Saints - unconditional love,
all the way down to the
serial child killer.
All these have there personal vibration, an energy field.
So the ego seems very powerful because we believe it to be so, only the power of God can remove that illusion.
Namaste.

I believe spiritual teachers who say that the whole reason for being in this world is find the answer to the question.

What am I?

No who but what.
Not the little me, (the ego) not the male or the female but beyond all of that.

So what is really important is the relationship we have with our Creator, God.
Everything else is transient.
With Love

For me its a question of priorities.
To be in this world but not of it.
Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, to God that which is God's

There are many interesting things in this world and yes I go there.
When my final moment comes of what use will be knowledge of Aliens, UFOs, Crop circles, Earth Quakes and a thousand other interesting things?
Not a lot---smiling.

Hi Graeme.
Thats a real Scottish way of spelling your name.
We have plans and God laughs.
My intention to lurk is interrupted at least time being.
Dan started a new web site link here and asked me if I would post.
http://www.myspiritualoasis.org/
Some good stuff here you can take a look and its easy to join.
Couple of posts above are pasted from either Beren's thread on Avalon 2
or Dan's site.

Now having said all of that it is, my natural desire to want to share, its a function not what I am.
I wrote a book but cant afford to publish, a publisher looked t it but said while it was good they were only publishing books by media celebrities, unfortunately Im not a good enough cook to have a book published
I dont mind Im not sure I want the responsibility of having to promote a book.

This thread has helped me immensely as when a person posts here it triggers a response.
The response comes partly from memory of things I have read and experienced and partly from elsewhere ie Higher Self.

So as long as there are people posting here, on this thread, responses where appropriate will happen.

Thanks for triggering this one Graeme

With Love
Chris
Ps the mods have a lot of work to do to transfer people to PA2 Im sure your invite is in the pipe line.

"Man is a thinking reed, but his great works are done when he is not calculating and thinking. “Childlikeness” has to be restored with long years of training in the art of self-forgetfulness. When this is attained, man thinks, yet he does not think. He thinks like the showers coming down from the sky; he thinks like the waves rolling on the ocean; he thinks like the stars illuminating the heavens. Indeed he is the showers, the ocean, the stars."

The importance of nothing

“Come in,” I said. “I just made tea.”

“Thank you,” he said, “That sounds nice.”

He followed me through the house and into the breakfast nook. He sat down at the little table while I got cups and saucers from the cabinets.

“What brings you this far from home?” I asked him.

“I am not really sure,” he said. “I just started walking this morning. I was thinking mostly. I didn’t realize just how long I had been out. The next thing I knew I was looking at your front door. I must have walked several miles today.”

I poured tea for both of us and then sat down to join him.

“What were you thinking about?” I asked.

“Nothing really. Or maybe everything.” He paused. His brow furrowed as if he was in very deep thought. “You know,” he continued, “I am a very happy man. I have everything that I have ever wanted. I am happy with my job, my family is happy and healthy, we never truly want for anything. But…” he paused again, “…I feel like there is something missing.”

“Like what?” I asked.

“I’m not really sure. I just feel an emptiness.”

“Spiritually, emotionally or intellectually?”

“I’m not sure, all three maybe.” He paused again, staring intently at his tea cup. “This tea is very good. What is it?”

“It is a blend that I make myself. It is Green Tea with a few herbs that help to relax the body and mind.”

He smiled, “I could sure use that.”

“You know,” I said, “emptiness isn’t always a bad thing. Many people actually strive to find it as apposed to filling it up.”

“But that is a different kind of emptiness,” he said.

“Is it?” I asked. “Have you ever looked close at a wagon wheel?”

He looked a bit confused at this change of subject. “I suppose,” he said.

“There are as many as thirty spokes on that wheel,” I said. “Each of those spokes connects the rim to the hub. But what is it about that wheel that makes it useful?”

“I don’t know, the shape?”

“No,” I smiled, “it is a wheel, so it is already round.” I pointed to the tea pot sitting on the table. “See this tea pot? I made it myself. I actually formed the clay with my hands, fired it and glazed it. I painted all of the intricate designs by hand. I am very proud of it. But, what is it about this tea pot that makes it useful?”

“It holds tea?”

“You are getting closer,” I said with a smile. I pointed to the back door of the house. “Tell me, what do you think is the most important part of that door?”

“I suppose the knob,” he said. “You couldn’t open it without it.”

“The knob is beneficial, yes. Just as the spout and handle are beneficial to the tea pot or the spokes and hub are beneficial to the wheel. But all of these things have one thing in common. They have emptiness.”

I let him think on that for a few seconds before I continued.

“The wheel has a hole in the middle for the axle to go through. That emptiness, that nothing is what makes the wheel useful. The tea pot has an empty space inside that can be used to hold water. The door has an opening that is empty.

“If these items did not have that emptiness, that nothingness then there would be no room to put anything else and they would be useless.

“That is true in everything. If your spiritual, emotional and intellectual spaces are filled then there is no room for more and they become useless. Therefore the wise man will strive for emptiness so that he is always ready to learn more.”

He stared at me for a few seconds. “Why is it that you always talk in riddles, old man?”

“I never talk in riddles,” I smiled at him. “But I have noticed that you tend to listen in them.”

We finished our tea and I walked him to the door. He would be back, as he always is.
