Re: Charge yr I-pod with an onion!!
Thank you for sharing that very enlightening series of videos. I was smiling the whole time! It's SO simple. This knowledge is right in front of our eyes, and yet seems to be so unknowable to most of us. It's nice that the videos provide very practical proof of how and why things work the way they work.
And, I really enjoyed the esoteric meaning that was presented at the end of part 5. Really wonderful! Vance |

Re: Charge yr I-pod with an onion!!
You can get electrolytes from an onion in very small quantities, but it's very unlikely you can charge anything from it, let alone an Ipod. Mythbusters did a segment on it (probably still available on the Discovery Channel website), and they couldn't get it to work. Though they are by no means the final authority on such matters and are the first to admit to it.
It would be awesome if it was for real though. |

Discovery channel never was any kind of authorithy on anything, rather another belief system in itself "you trust what they show you, or not".

Have you tested it yourself? I did to prove it to myself for ****s and giggles(that and I couldn't sleep), just after making the previous post. It didn't do a damn thing as far as charging my mp3 player (I didn't expect it to). Unfortunately, I had forgot that I left my multimeter with my tools at work so I couldn't even measure if there was any readable voltage so that was kinda pointless. I just ended up with a nasty smelling USB cord. |
