Default Land in Thailand

Is anybody interested in developing land in Thailand? We have farmable land in different areas of Thailand whose owners wish to see it put to good use. In some cases buildings and equipment are already available. This offer has been made to us in a spirit of great open heartedness and generosity. Please help us make it flourish.

Which areas do you have in mind? (I assume north or north east?) Anyway, can you provide more details - area, size, land deed, etc. Or just list some of your choice properties. Thanks.

We are thinking of relocating to the area west of Hua Hin/Pranburi/Cha-am towards the mountains and Burmese border. if you have any contacts in that area, please let me know.

Land is not that hard to come by, there seem to be plenty of people who are willing to let you use it. The land would be on formal loan at no charge. It is not possible to own land in Thailand and in some cases the existing title may prohibit transfer of any kind anyway.
We have been offered 6 rai in Rayong, 12 rai in Chiang Rai, 70 in Kabinburi and another 18 rai in Kanchanaburi. It's a great opportunity for anybody who has the energy and wants to start a new life away from Europe/US

Thanks for that info bulbous, those sound like some wonderful opportunities.

For those unfamiliar with land sizes in Thailand, land in Thailand is measured in the standard unit of 1 Rai.
1 Rai is 1600 Square Meters
1 Acre is about 2.5 Rai
1 Hectare is about 6.25 Rai

People should be aware though (as I mentioned in another thread Why Thailand?) that there are a range of different types of Thai land "deed". Sor Kor or Sor Por Gor only entitles the holder to farm on the land and one cannot build on it. Tor Bor Tor type of land must be used for agriculture, but a single house for the farmer's use may be built on it.

Well it is possible for Thai nationals to own land in Thailand or, indirectly, Westerners with Thai partners.
