A great source of "old-fashioned" supplies
I love this company! I know we are not supposed to be advertising for anyone, but this company really has all the good basics. That plunger-like thingy was great for the kids' diapers.

Re: A great source of "old-fashioned" supplies
Lehman's rules.
Be aware their prices are very high. A good practice is to shop their catalog to find what you are looking for, then price surf to see if you can find comparable. Petromax style pressure lanterns and grain mills are good examples of this. Some items, however, are only available through Lehman's. They have a kerosene lamp which is designed to be hung from the ceiling. Most lamps of this category have an obscene price range - hundreds of dollars. This one is twenty two bucks. I want one, but they are back ordered. I think a local Amish craftsman makes the steel frames in his shop and uses cheap chinese lamps for the finished product. http://www.lehmans.com/jump.jsp?item...at=693&i4Cat=0 Another outstanding tradesman, regional and less well known is http://www.wisementrading.com/ |
