Pieces of Cargo Plane fall on houses in Manaus...
Hi Everybody,
This story that broke in the international press yesterday has some interesting twists and turns that were not mentioned in those reports. According to the Brazilian press the aeroplane belongs to Arrow Cargo of Miami and was en route for Bogotá in Columbia. Infra-aero, once knowing that the turbine had fallen from the plane entered in contact with the pilot who informed tham that nothing was wrong. The flight was authorised for take off only empty or for non commercial flight, however the manager of the company, Rai Marinho, informed authorities that the plane was fully laden, but couldn't inform the nature of the cargo that was being transported. He also was not able to explain why the cargo plane was re-routed to Medellin, an extra 414km northwest of its' original destination. http://noticias.uol.com.br/cotidiano...5772u3392.jhtm This story smells a little fishy. More and more illegal arms routes are springing up in Brazil, not that I'm saying that this case is one of them. However it does leave a lot of questions unanswered. Best regards, Steve |
