Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours
Barry The Watcher might even pop in for a beer and some music sometime which would be a great honour. I owe him a few rounds of guinness for my insolence. This set is for The Watcher with my deep respect and sincere admiration for his assistance to humanity; YouTube- The Smiths "How Soon Is Now?" Last edited by Luminari; 11-14-2009 at 12:24 PM. |

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours
YouTube- Nine Inch Nails - The Hand That Feeds
You're keeping in step In the line Got your chin held high and you feel just fine Because you do What you're told But inside your heart it is black and it's hollow and it's cold Just how deep do you believe? Will you bite the hand that feeds? Will you chew until it bleeds? Can you get up off your knees? Are you brave enough to see? Do you want to change it? What if this whole crusade's A charade And behind it all there's a price to be paid For the blood On which we dine Justified in the name of the holy and the divine Just how deep do you believe? Will you bite the hand that feeds? Will you chew until it bleeds? Can you get up off your knees? Are you brave enough to see? Do you want to change it? So naive I keep holding on to what I want to believe I can see But I keep holding on and on and on and on Will you bite the hand that feeds you? Will you stay down on your knees? |

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours
[QUOTE=giovonni;122385][B][I][COLOR="Silver"]Note, I have no memories or recall of ever hearing this band ~Motley Crue?
But I've ~ been on a personal mission studying the 80's glam rock phenomena They do appear to be wholesome young men They also play very well together: Dear Geovoni, Motley Crue? You must be joking! I still have their first promo on vinyl... nobody I know were into metal then. For us it was punk and/or pre-goth (Joy Division, Siouxie...), or the plank. I used to see them eat at the Jack in the Box on occassion and was surprized to see passer byes aks for there autographs. I believe it was the drummer who had Pam Anderson as a mate for a while. I ended up shopping with her at a health food store after she was found to have hep C. Of all the crazy things, yeras later I got tounge lashed by my jealeous girlfriend for not befriending her more after the Lee's divorce. "So you think you're too good for her!!!..." (and so on). Fact is, I didn't know it was her until she was in the parking lot and on her merry way. The real ruth being, my girl had the red-hots for her. I would have been a connection. Oh, what a life I will no longer live. Back to the band: If you're over 29 years old, I wouldn't spend your money on them. Paul |

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours
Wasn't it Nikki Six of Motley Crue who had an OBE after OD'ing on heroin.
He saw his body being loaded into the ambulance, then came back to life in the hospital. Only to get out of the hospital and shoot up again, waking up a day later with the needle still sticking in his arm, with a trickle of blood running down. I think that was the end for him and really woke him up to what he's doing to his body. |

[QUOTE=Luminari;187735][B]The abusive messages to all of us are unacceptable and if it goes any further I will be requesting a ban on that member.
Ok I'd like to move on now... Can we return to normality please? Another energy clearance is in order. ********************************************** Dear Loomy and Friends, Thank you for the "Under the Milky Way" clip. It's been one of my favorites since it came out. Why can't there be more such music on the radio? I can't stand the violent, sexist rap I heard so much of at a job I had a couple years ago. All day, the same songs over and over again. I couldn't complain because I was new and didn't want out the door. I'll never get over the night I saw a friend who had an Oscar nomination for best song (and it was VERY beautiful and original) loose to a cheap rap number that went "It's Hard to be a Pimp." (then loose that crowd and get a day job... not allways easy, but quite do-able!!!). At least her flick "Crash" won Best Picture, but still, it's a classic case of reverse discrimination. The rap song, words, melody and performance was poor by ALL standards. Speaking of nasty stuff, I missed the flame toss here. All the better because I tend to be easily caught up in those dramas. Oh, the reason for my post. I missed the screanings of "2012" and even missed openning night as my partner, Leslie, just got news of possible ovarian cancer and needs support for her biopsy Monday. Please send her your thoughts (and thanks for the compliment, Giovoni, she still looks good like that back and white photo, but like so many women, does not believe in her natural beauty and has low self esteem). The 2012 reviews point out generic acting and a whole hour of "WHOA!!! Look out! Bang! BOOM! ZAP!!!" and on and on. I'm a Si Fi fan, but if The End of The World is going to be that kind of a quick amusment park ride, let's have on with it and get it over with quick. I shouldn't review a film before seeing it, but I'm still more excited about a Wilcock/Kassidy/Ryan (and?) project that will really move people to something new. They know what's making the clock tick (and keeping their ears on the ground for changes) and I can't imagine anything but something truly classic coming out of them. The last great "Gone With the Wind" before we might ACTUALLY be GONE with the wind (or not). Anybody see 2012? Thoughts? (I'm waiting until Leslie's back on her feet next week. Like Miriam, we see all of the End-of-the-Wrolds to guage the public wind). Leslie at lower right of album home page: www.home.earthlink.net/~paul_perner/ Happy Endings to All, Paul |

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours
I call you my friend, too, Unified. I call all the list my firends.
You have quite a streatch between Led Zepeline and the Christian songs. I prefer the former musically, but the latter spiritually. We sure lost something in the last 2000 years. Lennon's "UFOs over New York... not surprized" I think was written when Whitley Strieber was writing "Communion." These ARE strange days, indeed. I'm terrribley worried about my ex, Leslie (who is now my Kerry as she's the last one from the old circle I know that hasn't run away from LA and is the only one I know off line who is a truly aware and becoming more aware person (it's in the eternal BECOMING that matters). I had a friend who died of ovarian cancer and it made her so miserible that she lost her mind before she passed at 32. She came up with an urban "burning man" festival idea years before those guys did it in the desert. I'm just tripping. Maybe Leslie's tests will be negetive. It's Friday night. I'd be painfully lonely if not for these forums (Here, Bluestar, my Facebook) and a big flufy cat who's purring at my side right now. It's the 30 years anniversary of a Jamacan song that some of you might recall from the vinyl century... take it away sisters! Paul (www.northhollywoodarts.com) (www.ravensanddoves.com) |
