Terror threat in UK 'approaching critical'
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...-critical.html
I realise it's mainstream news people need to be aware and not surprised if an attack occurs soon. The terrorist threat in Britain is approaching critical as police and MI5 face an increase in activity by al-Qaeda militants, senior security officials have disclosed. By Duncan Gardham, Security Correspondent Last Updated: 10:30AM BST 03 Oct 2008 The terrorist threat in Britain has been considered severe since the arrest of the men allegedly plotting to attack transatlantic airliners in 2006 The threat level is at the "severe end of severe" according to sources who say the level of "chatter" among terrorist cells has increased in recent months. The security services say they are now operating at full stretch to counter the elevated threat. Britain's close relationship with the US has been particularly inflammatory after cross-border raids into Pakistan by American forces. article continues on link above. |

Re: Terror threat in UK 'approaching critical'
mmmm I have heard also that there are extensive networks under parliament in London and also around the central 'City' area and around the metro area.
It is interesting to note that many so called 'old' or 'disused' tube stations are closed off - there used to be many more operational. You only have to get on a tube train and if you keep a look out you will see that often the tube trains whizz past a 'disused' station - some looking very antique like they are frozen in time - other times you may see 'disused' platforms. The tube system is also very old - so I suppose there has been a lot of time - especially during and post WW2 to extend a 'private' network of tunnels....prehaps further underground than the conventional tube system the public currently use! The tube system concept in London is very old also - someone may know the history a bit better - here is a website that may explain some things http://underground-history.co.uk/front.php The first tube tunnel was built around 1870! Think what can be built today with high technologies.... Remember - even Londoners during the heavy bombing in WW2 sheltered in the tube systems.... Re: Terror threat in UK 'approaching critical'
Just in:
"Shortly before his untimely death, former British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook told the House of Commons that "Al Qaeda" is not really a terrorist group but a database of international mujaheddin and arms smugglers used by the CIA and Saudis to funnel guerrillas, arms, and money into Soviet-occupied Afghanistan. Courtesy of World Affairs, a journal based in New Delhi, WMR can bring you an important excerpt from an Apr.-Jun. 2004 article by Pierre-Henry Bunel, a former agent for French military intelligence. " "The truth is, there is no Islamic army or terrorist group called Al Qaida. And any informed intelligence officer knows this. But there is a propaganda campaign to make the public believe in the presence of an identified entity representing the 'devil' only in order to drive the 'TV watcher' to accept a unified international leadership for a war against terrorism. The country behind this propaganda is the US and the lobbyists for the US war on terrorism are only interested in making money." (Our emphasis, Ed.) http://www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/article.asp?ID=3836 btw, The ending of the movie "V", that has been seen with pure thrill as the ultimate account of justice to a run away government, by millions and millions of people, must be a nightmare for all them terrorist hunters. After all, everyone agrees with "V" that that was the thing to do, given the situation as the movie depicts.. So those millions and millions of people might do the same when facing the same situation @home. Is this considered "Chatter"? ;-) Last edited by TranceAm; 10-04-2008 at 09:17 PM. |
