Smile (hope thread!) The Sun is Up, The Sky is Blue.....

It's beautiful and, so are YOU

Dear reader greet the brand new day

Look around 'round 'round
Look around 'round 'round

Dear reader won't you let me see you smile

The sun is up, the sky is blue
It's beautiful and so are you.

(hehe. any beatles fans out there?)

Alright, now for the substance.

I've been feeling kind of gloomy for a few days now. Some goofy stuff going on in my life and some goofy stuff going on here as well.

Yesterday that changed. In big way. I've had my share of highs and lows over the years, and really though I'm pretty balanced usually. But yesterday something changed. I went to work and saw the huge lines of voters.
I admired their hope, but I couldn't share it. I had no confidence in the candidate(s). I knew Barak was a lock last month anyway. And I share the same concerns as many Obama haters(for lack of a better word).

I know about the ZB connection. (legit)
I know about Michelle's CFR connections. (legit)
I know about Obama's status quo foreign policy. (legit)
I know that Obama is Cheney's 8th cousin. (legit)
(i.e; bloodlines, although no joke, Carlos the Jackal is my brother-in-law's 10th removed cousin, and he's a pretty good guy.)

I know about the Larry Sinclair testimony. (suspect)
I know about the secrest radical Muslim claims. (false)
I know about the Sharia law claims.(false)

I know as much as I possibly could about Obama.

None of that matters though.

What matters is that so many people believe in a better way. They are all hopeful. They may not all be "awake" yet, as many of us put it, but they can be, and they're showing their heart w/ thier vote for Obama. Many will say that it's a cult of personality, and to some extent that may be true, but what I saw last night was people embracing change.

They were out in the streets here in StL. They were in their front yards waving signs and cheering. They are hopeful.

This election has not yet sold me on Obama, but it has sold me on my fellow human (as I heard from Jenny, something like 85% of the world polled for Obama).

The masses are becoming more receptive to real change, and that cannot be bad.

I hope they follow through though. I'll do my best.

For my part anyway, I have decided to wipe the slate clean, so to speak, for Obama. I am hoping that he is indeed a good man that will stand up to the immense pressures that have undoubtedly already been layed out before him.
I hope he was just "playing the game" to get where he is and will now surprise some of us, in a good way.

I am not giving him carte blanche by any means. I'll watch as intently as I did w/ Bush, but I'll give him a chance at least.

Now I invite you to forget about politicians and look at your nieghbors. They are good people who want what's best for humanity as well as anyone here does. They may not be as vocal as some here, but this election is a mandate for hope imo.

The world is happy and hopefull for a moment.

So relax and enjoy the joy for awhile.

Close your eyes and listen to this melody.
Think about how you want the next few months to play out. Focus hard on the positive. It's so very important.

I actually heard something fairly profound from Bush earlier.
"You are about to go on one of the great journeys of life."

I think that may be true for all us very soon.

So I'm gonna go have a ride (mt. bike) later, and greet the brand new day.

p.s. It was dark when I started writing this thread and now the sun is up and the sky is indeed blue! So I took picture.

I think its great that you are open to whatever may come and that even though the result did not go according to your wishes you can see the positive so clearly and express it in the way you have.

The world is looking at Obama with such hope that perhaps all those positive feelings will generate something good.

My wishes are currently (as far as I can tell) just this side of impossible, so I certainly wasn't expecting my wishes to manifest last night.

But the results have left me feeling very positive and hopeful, so I thank all who voted for Obama for that reason. I'm fairly certain that I wouldn't have felt quite like I do now if McCain had won. But that was impossible as well anyway.

What I'm hoping for now, is that Obama starts surprising people, by speaking about things he has been quite on durring the campaign. (i.e; real new 9/11 investigation)

He hasn't said a word about that as far as i have seen. If I hear that soon, I'll reconsider everything I've thought about the man.

If that happens then imo, the positive possibilities are endless. We can begin to safely dismantle this powderkeg that is poised to blow, but like I said it seems like my wishes are just this side of impossible.

It can't hurt to stay positive though.

I agree with you so much raulduke...we all know Obama is controlled, it doesn't matter his agenda, it's the promise of "hope" that can bring change en masse. The group consciuosness is what will bring the change, now we have been lifted out of the 8 years of insanity, as long as people believe this they can move forward. Obama and his masters are just a small group...HUMANITY is much bigger

Oh, stop it! The world wanted Bush out no matter what, that's why Obama was so popular.

Obama is a socialist, and no, socialism is not unconditional love like some reincarnated "prophets" like to say.

His comments about Colombia in one of the debates were worrisome. This is the last place in South America that hasn't been taken over by socialists. I am affraid he will do things to favor Chavez, FARC and others.

I, like you, did not pin my hopes on anything during the campaign.

I did not watch the news or get involved on an emotional level.

I could not however dismiss the surge of energy that went through my body from 8:30 pm CST until midnight on election day. I felt the hope of the planet and I cried and smiled. I felt sad and happy at the same time and I felt LOVE. It was so friggin fantastic that I wish I could have put it in a bottle. I am happy that if anything, this has influenced the worlds perspective of the people who live in America. I am glad that Americans feel that their voice was heard. No one can fix our problems in 4 years...but the unity I felt last night was incredible and earth changing. I was so happy to feel my human family so close to me. This day feels like a new dimension to me and I welcome it.

Chavez is an old-fashioned dictator. He is on a quest for the "socialism of the 21st century" and for that he uses all means necessary. Shutting down TV stations that don't praise him, persecuting political enemies, introducing laws that give the executive superpowers while financing drug-trafickers from Colombia in order to undermine the govern there and do the "revolution".

He is another one doing a "personality cult", similar to what was done in totalitarian regimes in the past. And his rethoric is filled with hatred and divisionism, a classic rich vs. poor strategy.

It's amazing that for some people that think Bush is the devil incarnated, they praise the guy that elevates to tone of totalitarianism to levels much more dangerous.

He has a movement called "Bolivarianism" that is a kind of "Brown Nazism" in terms of zeal and fanaticism.

All of that would be bad enough. But he is not alone. Only Colombia that I can recall is a non-socialist country, and they are fighting guerrillas for decades. All others wish them to fall. They have created a kind of "South American Union" following the European Union model, from which I have learned that it's likely to be a "Soviet Union of Banana Republics".

Hi francie,

I know what you mean. I was pretty dissillusioned by the whole sorry process, that I tuned out from the mainstream news long ago.

I have no misconceptions about the motives of politicians either.

But I felt the same thing you did, just a bit later.

I drove home at about 1:00 a.m. CST, and there were kids in the streets banging on pots and pans like it was new years'. Seriously.

I started to feel something different, and "dear prudence" came on the old sat. radio, and I'll admit that I cried a bit as well. I'm a grown man (26 qulaifies I guess) and I haven't cried in awhile.

It was never about the politics of course, it's all about the people, for me anyway.

i am teary even today. It's a big deal and so very powerfully healing in a symbolic way to see a president-elect that comes from both a white and black background. As a Southerner raised in an atmosphere of self imposed segregation, I'm in awe of what's happened.
I don't know how he'll reconcile the Hope for real change, with whatever political debts he owes for getting there. But something tells me he might surprise us and be the real thing. I resonate with what's been said...the important thing is what he's drawing out of us...the emotional energy and feelings of unity that have been created. I've never seen so many black and white people holding hands, hugging, merged together in crowds, in all my life. it's beautiful.

Today was a good day.

I had a good ride and saw some beautiful fall colors in the forest.

I honestly never expected to be so uplifted by the election of a man I know to be, at best, affilated w/ dark forces.

I grow tired of the revelations about his past as well his current advisory staff.

These things are truly worthy of concern, but at a certain point after alerting as many as we can and speaking out, there is little more we can do except hope for the best.

I always loved Bill Hicks, but I could never quite resonate completely w/ what he said here.

"It's just a ride, and we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money, a choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your door, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one."

I've been thinking about this all day and it makes more sense now then it ever did before.
I want to hope for love ubiqitously from now on. I think I can do it.
I think we can all do it.

It was a great day. I took the pup to park and felt like I was ten years old.

I've changed my mind about Obama alittle, his acceptance speech was very good, and I liked the camera views of peoples faces during his speech, very uplifting. We'll see how he performs.

A very excellent post
You know what I woke up today feeling awesome, no worries, no cares just total contentment. I to know all about Obama and was somewhat disappointed more people did not vote independent. Never the less I am experiencing a surge in positive energies and that is great.

Regardless of the government, the economy, and all the possible negative side effects that may occur. I am going to do my part in making a better and brighter future for me, my family and anyone else out here that wants to participate.

Someone on another thread mentioned new curtains in the white house my opinion is no curtains at all, but regardless of what occurs the democrats may need to take notice that if they to forget about the people they will eject them as well.

Love & Peace
Trish

The sun is up,
dewy eagle wings float on a high breeze.
The lake laps loudly,
serenity's desire to endlessly please.

The sun is up,
the coffee drips with plops and drops.
The paper left unread,
cacaphony outside stops.

The sun is up,
shadows creep across the land.
The good kind though,
relief against the noon-time sand.

The sun is up,
and it has brought warmth to one more day.
Will it rise again?
And if it does, what then will we say?
