My Irish grandfather was a professional golfer here in michigan in the 1930's, still have his wooden putter.

Ah yes a day to celebrate , there use to be an "O" before my last name , got dropped but one day it's going back on.

So I say Happy St. Pattys Day to the avalon family, Gonna have a few guiness tonight. Way to go with all the illustrations today on this thread, it's what I expected, much creativity!
This reminds me of another tale..but not an Irish tale...an American tale...My real name is Brook...named after a brook running through a valley..named by my great aunt Ann Bassett...queen of the cattle rustlers...and known associate of Butch Cassidy ....
Some say Butch was killed in South America..but when his grave was dug up...there was no body.....some say he went to Alaska....
My Father was born and raised at the Bassett ranch in Alaska...quite a coincidence huh?

Here is the story as it goes...old west time folks..American style

Bassett is my maiden name..and if you look at the picture of Ann...she looks a lot like me.

More like that.

It's a celebration of drunken behavior and does a disservice to the Irish.
