Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours
Oh dear! Where are my blood pressure pills? I've been hijacked! I was having a flight of fancy and fell asleep. When I awoke, I recognized one of Avalon Lounge's regular patrons blocking my return to the flight deck.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining and I don't need to be rescued but I will need my blood pressure pills and probably some viagra. Do I hear you ask why? This is why . . . . . Quick, hurry with the pills - I'm starting to fade again . . . . .Oh bugger . . . . . |

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours
Gosh! I must have had too much alcohol before taking my medication - I've just had the wierdest dream. There I was, flying with Foster Brooks when I was offered a cocktail by the flight attendant. I started to feel faint and went back to the men's room. Then, when I tried to return to the driver's compartment to take over from Foster, the same flight attendant began tearing her clothing off and blocked my path. I really didn't know what to do.
I think she must have slipped something into that drink she brought me. My heart started to race and the blood rushed to my head, I began to feel strange urges - then someone grabbed my hand and we squeezed past her . . . . then I woke up! DAMN and BLAST! |

$800? ??? $800? ????? $1600 for the pair? ????? Heck, that's almost a years worth of very good food storage. Hmmm, you probably can tell I'm not a big sports fan Well, if they're yours Dan, I hope you're having a grand time.

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours
G'day Carmen and macros - they're a pretty odd bunch in here I must agree. But they're pretty harmless.
I had an interesting experience on my way in tonigh folks. I got stuck behind an old rattle-trap truck. He stopped at the first set of traffic lights and got out of the cab. I thought he'd probably been driving all day and needed to stretch his legs. When the lights turned green, he hammered on the side of the truck, jumped into the cab, a took off to a shuddering start. At the next set of lights he went through the same procedure again. I must admit I was curious as to what was his reason for doing this. After two more sets of lights I was almost having a nervous breakdown and had to take a blood pressure pill. Finally, I couldn't contain myself any longer and the next time we stopped, I jumped out too, ran up to him and asked what the hell was going on? He replied, "well, this old truck has a badly slipping clutch - I've got 1000 pigeons in the back and the clutch just couldn't handle it if they were all perching, so I give them a wake-up. That way the clutch will last until we reach home and I can fix it." |

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours
hi to you Brinty, pleased to meet you in here.
Talking of animals in trucks....well i kinda do a similar thing in my job role. Being a training officer i also have the duty of collecting "trainees" or "donkeys" or "grunts" as i like to call them. These guys i pick up are the ones who no one can do anything with, so poor me has to build them back up and push, sorry aid them back into society. On one dull, cold Monday morning after collecting a full pack of these guys i travelled to our base some 25 miles away. With my window open (to remove odours, meat flies etc) I kept getting questions like, "aw wi der yeht....urrrgh" and "ah hate fuggin coursezzz" After a while these examples of mankinds future began to fall quiet. Some staring into space, others half asleep. We came to a roadway full of speed humps and as i drove over them these donkeys in the back began grunting in chorus with one another. I really found it hard not to laugh but just about managed it. Cant wait for tomorrow....honest! Macros |

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours
macros ... your story sounds a little fishy to me ...
these donkeys and grunts you speak of ... are you sure you weren't drivin a bunch of avalonians home after their time in this here lounge ??? you say some were staring into space and others were half asleep ... soundin like lounge members to me ... next time you do one of these runs ... ya might wanna check the pockets of these donkeys and grunts and see if they're carryin some of them fruity drink umbrellas ... THEN ... you will know they are avalonians!!! hey dagon ... nice pics you took ... recognize one as being long lost aunt ... hadn't seen her in ... decades ... was afraid someone like CARMEN got a hold of her and made her into ... eeewwww ... soup ... glad to know she's still afloat ... always liked her ... and looky that soft coral ... impressive photography dagon ... you're too sweet you're sweet too macros ... just maybe check to see which bunch of donkeys ya got in your bus! know what ... EVERYONE is sweet around here ... even brinty when he's not on the floor ... or taking his blood pressure pills cos he can't get by flight attendants ... yeeeshh brinty ... |
