THE AGENDA...
spirit works in mysterious ways,
so, we will have a number of things,
on the agenda

This is on sacred native land
so, it is important that those who come
respect land, and, each other

What is going to go on:

(as, i try to cook this up, i will input things)
on this trip, too many cooks will NOT spoil the broth

We will work together, as a group,
to figure out, food, music, outings, etc.,

On Friday -- we will begin to gather around 4-6 PM
and, enjoy each other, and, the setting of the sun
(some may NOT arrive, until later in the day)
and, some of us,
may arrive earlier
and, who knows, some of us, may come back later than Monday)

i need a break !!! An eco-cabin for 6, is only $120/6 = $20.00 ea for 2 nights

On Saturday--we will go take a tour
of The Petroglyph Park
(this is an amazing place)

On Sunday--we may explore the Serpent Mounds,
where we are staying, and, areas, surrounding that

We will bring real sacred drums/and, sacred rattles
made by real native american indians,
and, we will, also bring cedar smudge, sweetgrass,
and, copal resin
and, perhaps, some tobacco to offer to the spirits

and, we all need to bring our "lively" spirits

We will invite in some spirits--
hope they come to join us,
and, have a spirited time

This will be fun ...
so, if you are in the area,
and, think it would be great fun to join us

post to the thread

love

http://www.sacred-destinations.com/c...etroglyphs.htm

The Peterborough Petroglyphs are a remarkable collection of over 900 ancient images carved into crystalline limestone located near Peterborough in Ontario, Canada.

History
After being lost for centuries, the Peterborough Petroglyphs was rediscovered by historian Charles Kingam in 1924.

The limestone at Peterborough is generally believed to have been carved by the Algonkian people between 900 and 1400 AD. Today, the First Nations people of Ontario call the carvings Kinomagewapkong, meaning "the rocks that teach."

However, there are several other theories of the date and authors of the remarkable petroglyphs:

Retired Harvard professor Barry Fell believes the petroglyphs are inscriptions by a Norse king named Woden-lithi (Servant of Odin), who was said to have sailed from Norway up the St. Lawrence River in about 1700 BC.
Mayanologist David H. Kelley viewed the petroglyphs and declared that some of the symbols were European, dating perhaps to ca. 1000 BC
According to Andis Kaulins and Megaliths.co.uk, the petroglyphs are a sky map of the heavens from c.3117 BC based on European tradition; they have nothing to do with Native American traditions.
The area surrounding the petroglyphs was established as Petroglyphs Provincial Park in 1976.

What to See
The Peterborough Petroglyphs consist of more than 900 individual images, which are carved into a slab of crystalline limestone 180 feet (55 m) long and 100 feet (30 m) wide. About 300 of these are discipherable shapes, including humans, shamans, animals, solar symbols, geometric shapes and boats.

The boat drawings among the petroglyphs do not resemble the traditional boat of the Native Americans. One solar boat — a stylized shaman vessel with a long mast surmounted by the sun — is typical of petroglyphs found in northern Russia and Scandanavia.

A fissure in the rock is thought to have been revered as the entrance to the underworld or the symbolic womb of the Earth Mother.

Quick Facts
The park is open daily from May until Thanksgiving weekend and is located 55 km northeast of Peterborough in Ontario.

Hi eXchanger,
I am sooooo jealous! If I wasn't in the beginning of selling and buying a home, I would be there in a flash. Really need nature's calming abilities right about now.

Thank you for the invite and all the necessary info. It is really appreciated!

Love & Light

Susan

I would love to attend - unfortunately I have to be in NH for our ground crew meeting and I would have to take Friday off of work. It's just too difficult. Sounds really good. Hope you enjoy yourselves.

Hi Debbie...
i have been working also, to get my house ready to sell...
and, to really organise things
(since, i already designed a few businesses to run at the hub of a "remote" centre"
higher guidance, says, it would be ok here,
for now, and, many people, in the area in very large homes,
would likely love this "rare" area, at 1/3 the cost of the surrounding homes -- so, i got to trust that
(i will likely have more than one place)
it is time to create some seminars,
to assist others,
& mississauga is the bulls-eye
of this area of ontario --so, i am to let go of the reigns
and, just allow "the cosmos" to guide me
i am sure here, this house, for the right price
would sell in 3 days-and; i've got 1/3 of it painted,
now, the other 2/3 to do
YES, selling/buying can be a little stressful,
and, i do need a short escape, followed,
myself by a longer one -- anyone want to go to mexico LOL
