Arrow Organic molecule hints at alien life

Organic molecule hints at alien life
by Kate Melville

http://www.scienceagogo.com/news/200...runc_sys.shtml

Scientists have detected glycolaldehyde (an organic sugar molecule that is directly linked to the origin of life) 26,000 light years from Earth in a region of our galaxy where habitable planets may exist. The international team of astronomers used the IRAM radio telescope in France (pictured) to detect the molecule and they have reported their findings in Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Glycolaldehyde, the simplest of the monosaccharide sugars, can react with the substance propenal to form ribose, a central constituent of ribonucleic acid (RNA). Glycolaldehyde has previously only been detected towards the centre of our galaxy where conditions are extreme compared to the rest of the galaxy. This new discovery, in an area far from the galactic center, also suggests that the production of this key ingredient for life could be common throughout the galaxy. This is encouraging news in our search for alien life as a wide spread of the molecule improves the chances of it existing along side other molecules vital to life.

The team was able to detect glycolaldehyde by using the telescope to observe the region with high-angular resolution and at different wavelengths. The observations confirmed the presence of three lines of glycolaldehyde towards the most central part of the core of the region.

"This is an important discovery as it is the first time glycolaldehyde, a basic sugar, has been detected towards a star-forming region where planets that could potentially harbor life may exist," said Dr Serena Viti, one of the paper's authors from University College London.

funny how the "Scientific Threads" get no love...

but the 'crazy' ones get lots of love. LOL

almost feels like.. ("wait, what? there is evidence? proof? real science behind this? ohh forget it then") lol

or is it jus that the scientific stuff leaves Less room to speculate and make things up or what?
i dunno.
but i like science. lol
:P

I'd like to know how they detect a molecule that small and that far away in space....anybody know?

Tell me about it O11, exactly my thoughts!, I'd rather read scientific stuff than predictions and prophecies. And this is all I can find BROOK out of the article above,The team was able to detect glycolaldehyde by using the telescope to observe the region with high-angular resolution and at different wavelengths. The observations confirmed the presence of three lines of glycolaldehyde towards the most central part of the core of the region.
Pure magic if you ask me! LOL!

Do you think maybe, just maybe, after 8 years of the government and industry blatently swaying science (and goodness knows how many years prior), having watched the FDA approve drugs based on "science" that kill people, and various other situations like this that some people might have a distrust of "science" and might be more into conspiracies ???

Straight science isn't so straight anymore, and we've all learned that the one who has the money is the one who determines the results - frequently - and that science is sooooo very slow to change because people are so busy protecting their own paradigms (or fiefdoms). (You might find it interesting to read Candace Pert's first book "Molecules of Emotion." ) How many of us here believe in castastrophism (the fact that there can be catastrophies that literally change the face of the planet in a very short time) - how many scientists REALLY do?

The finding of a single sugar is interesting, but not so interesting to me as the person who has actually MET another being from offplanet. Can I believe the person who says they've met another being? Probably about as much as I can believe the drug companies and their scientific studies. I take it all with a grain of salt until I have enough evidence to make an informed decision, given all the variables.

It's all about taking in information from various sources and using your own discrimination to tell the difference.

Alys

just their very lame way of beginning to
tell the public that life does indeed exist elsewhere.

they have lied for so long...

they have to come out with silly things like this,
one at a time...
because.. you know...
"we couldnt just handle the truth all at once". lol
doh.

Great question! So they can detect planets, just, as long as they are big enough, by the wobble they cause against the star they are orbiting.

But a freakin molecule!? Come on!

lol, yea......

if they can see a molecule in another star sytem....

im sure they can see a whoolee lot more! lol

really though... I think this is just their silly way to help them get the idea out there..
that life does indeed exist beyond WE. <3

I think you're right O11, they've got themselves in such a lack of public release of information hole, that they're trying to dig themselves out one shovel full at a time by releasing bits and pieces to the public! Does that make sense?

Brook, the presence of 'a' molecule (really many molecules or a chemical) in space can be made by observing either the frequencies of light (or radio in this case) it absorbs or radiates just like a chemical fingerprint.

If you look at a known light source behind the chemical and see certain frequencies absorbed, matching a chemical you know, you can tell that it is there even though it is very far away.
..Or, if the chemical is heated and glows, you can look at that radiation and figure out what it is made of.

In this case there is probably a very large amount of the chemical covering perhaps a large fraction of the width of a solar system to be detected.

I think they use light spectrum to identify different elements. As different chemicals and elements absorbs different wavelength of the light, you end up with lines on certain spot on the spectrum and therefore you can identify what's infront of the light.

Excellent. More and more are beginning to use Deductive Reasoning. That is - What is NOT said can often be used to give You answers to..."Other" questions...

That said - You bet They can see alot more -

You are correct in that it IS Their way of parting the Info out as - To be totally Honest - Some will simply reel from the Disclosures soon to come out.

Not all are as aware as the Posters here and some of the Posters here are not even that up to date on what HAS gone on or IS going on.

IE. Codex, Symbolism, the Orion/Pleiades connection, etc.

For Them I see the pace slowed but I would rather see the Info come right out in Peoples faces much faster. Owell, this will occur soon at any rate. I can easily say - I tire of Mankind's excuses as I'm sure many here have...

That stated - We don't control the release of this Info so We simply have to wake up as much People as possible in the best ways We can with the time We have left.

This is why I've no problem with People posting about Issues such as UFOs, MKUltra, the NWO, Luciferianism/Satanism, Freemasonry, Spirituality, the Creator, et al. I observe the two Laws of the Middle Path as others do here. That is - The Law of Allowance and the Law of Confusion, and I feel that if asked for advice or counsel - That its then a great honor to "turn" someone onto the Information We've found out about.

Simply put - I feel that this is good News. I love it when Mainstream Science backs Us up...
