I dont know if this was mentioned or queried before but, what would be the chances of moving the moon out of its present orbit?
If ofcourse this does indeed happen.

Use Google Moon to see where Cabeus Crater is:

http://www.google.com/moon/

Zoom out and look to the bottom, you will see a red balloon marking Cabeus crater... the whole area is blacked out though... no sunlight.

I was kind of hoping to see some obvious alien base structure or something.

Nada but the blackest black.

Secret place.

12:15pm UK time ??

Not long to go then...

My month of mouth on Avalon is about to expire. So consider any radio silence on my part not down to the moon explosion, but a conserving of energy until I have something interesting or worthwhile to say.

lol... this could take a while...

But I shall continue enjoying your posts for the time being.

love to you all.

We are the Moon Crew

Umm, hitting the south pole, a question or 2:

Which way does the moon revolve?

If you hit a snooker or pool ball on the bottom it puts spin on the ball, would this not happen to the moon?

Here's the link to the NASA TV Channel, but it doesn't seem to work well. I guess too many people online.

Hey Lumi, I just finished the Patrick Geryl interview, nothing new but still quite disturbing. Its about 90 minutes long and his accent makes it difficult to stay focused. Although you'd probably say that my accent is pretty much the same so...

I saw it on the today show live, it was a non event with no visible 'plume'. Matt Lauer and the rest of the twits were a bit disappointed.

Question Re: Save the Moon...Missile to reach the Moon on the 9th October!!

Some of the other programs they were talking about sounded intriging..

Late 2012.. 'Laddie' mission, to enter extremely low orbit around the moon.

And that military biological mission...

Wow, that was the biggest waste of time. I got up on my first day of vacation, earlier than when I wake up to go to work to watch the spacecraft hit the moon and I saw jack. That was the biggest waste of time. The coverage was none existent at best and I saw nothing. Wasn't there supposed to be a second ship to crash after the first, nothing said about that and who was the guy that got out of that room so fast it made my head spin. The people where celebrating and giving high 5's and this guy didn't or looked like he wouldn't join in. He grab his stuff and was out of that room in 10 seconds. That was the strangest thing I saw this morning. Where were the telescopes watching the whole thing. This was such a PR shame it wasn't funny. Yeah, and everyone is waking to watch and what was the first news story out President Obama won the Nobel peace prize, another shame. What has he done for peace in his 9 months? Just a question? The strangest thing I saw this morning watching the Moon crash was the weird guy that flew out of the room and that the Nobel Prize can be bought. Sorry for the ranting but I'm just a little ticked off that I wasted my time and lost some valuable sleep. NASA again shows us what a joke they are in the scientific community. Darn I wish I hadn't had that cup of coffee or I would head back to bed but my blood is really pumping from my anger over the whole BS.

For those of you smart enough to sleep in this morning, here's what you missed.
