Default To the suffering.

I was going to say a brief prayer and make a short comment on my profile but I decided I should create a thread instead. Whether anyone reads this thread or not matters not to me.

What matters is the plight of the suffering. In every catastrophe be it at home or abroad, I have sent out my healing, donated money and prayed for the dead. I have done what little I could, even some charity work.

Tonight, after being bombarded by news and footage of the dead and hurt from Haiti I would like to ask the Reiki practitioners, and other healers amongst us, like myself to send a massive wave of healing power to everyone that is suffering. I can only ask.

In this case, permission needed to help an individual need not be asked as all who suffer trauma are already asking for help and want to be helped. All we need to do is give it.

May we discover through pain and torment,
the strength to live with grace and humor.
May we discover through doubt and anguish,
the strength to live with dignity and holiness.
May we discover through suffering and fear,
the strength to move toward healing.
May it come to pass that we be restored to health and to vigor.
May Life grant us wellness of body, spirit, and mind.
And if this cannot be so, may we find in this transformation and passage
moments of meaning, opportunities for love
and the deep and gracious calm that comes
when we allow ourselves to move on.

- Rabbi Rami M. Shapiro

By my own will and with my own power and with my own Divinity, I send out healing of mind, body and spirit to all who are suffering.

May you know peace.
May you know comfort.
May you know love.
May you know the kiss of hope,
And the touch of healing.
May you know the surcease of pain.
May your hurts be healed,
And your tears be dried,
For a new day will dawn.
