The indians sent the chandra up, it cost them the price of a jumbo jet, and within a month they had found water, NASA went up at least five times and if you believe them they found nothing.

The best discovery/announcment of 2009 was water on the moon.

How does this 'genius' conclude we don't 'need' to go back.

Just leave it to the other countries like China, Japan, and Russia. They'll come up with something much sooner and the U.S will then feel compelled to jump the gun and horse race out of some superiority complex.

Meanwhile, the Russians will probably be most cordial and invite the other countries and space agencies along for the ride.

The date has been set, around 2020, no sooner unfortunately. At least in front of the public.
