Default Ahmadinejad to give Xmas message on UK TV

http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id...onid=351020101

Iran's President is to deliver a Christmas Day message on Britain's Channel 4 television in counterpoint to Queen Elizabeth's speech.

Following in the tradition of the channel, the public-service British television broadcaster will air an annual alternative to the Queen's Christmas speech.

As relations between Iran and the West made headlines over the past year and are expected to continue to play a crucial role in world affairs in 2009, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will use the airtime at 7.15pm London time to deliver the broadcaster's 16th alternative message.

Channel 4 has announced that President Ahmadinejad would deliver a spiritual speech featuring a message of seasonal goodwill.

Head of News and Current Affairs Dorothy Byrne said that, "As the leader of one of the most powerful states in the Middle East, President Ahmadinejad's views are enormously influential. As we approach a critical time in international relations, we are offering our viewers an insight into an alternative world view."

"Channel 4 has devoted more airtime to examining Iran than any other broadcaster and this message continues a long tradition of offering a different perspective on the world around us."

The alternative to the Queen's Christmas Day broadcast has previously featured a varied and controversial selection of presenters.

Despite religious preferences - this man is talking real sense and Iran is one of ancient cultures/origins. Apols if already been listened to/read but I really believe he is speaking as we are - and the Big Media will not give honesty a voice any more.
May our God stop this nonsense, stop watching mind-numbing TV distractions, REALLY look at Gaza/deprived Africa et al and watch the gloating bonus-grabbing banksters take their toll on us taxpayers globally.

In the UK there was a secret meeting in court - totally gagged - to censure the internet - who knows if we'll get access to Rense et al again (which is what happened in Australia). How come the banksters' family Jemima Khan and her brother get off???

This is not the only source - but some people in countries alienated by the MSM really DO TALK SENSE.....

I am sure that the western media is already cut-and-pasting portions of his speech like a bunch of kindergartners so that they can make their case for war.

What I heard and felt from Ahmadinejad's message is that he does NOT want tptb's control over the world.

I believe he is a good man who is being made to look like a terrorist.

I also believe this of Chavez.

If leaders do not go along with their program they are made to look evil.

There is a documentary floating around called, "The Revolution will not be televised" when the CIA took Chavez from his seat of power and how the USA made it look as though it was because of the violence of terrorists, when in fact it was not.
It just so happened some wonderful filmmakers from Ireland captured the entire episode on film. It is an awesome thing to watch the people rise up against tyranny to get their beloved leader back in power after he was kidnapped.

I believe whatever is called bad/evil should be questioned, most times it is only an illusion created to instill fear and doubt in the masses.

Recently, I had a taxi driver who was from Pakistan, he was in the US trying to make money to send back to his family at home. We had a lovely discussion on how all people, no matter what country, are the same, trying to make a living and raise their families and that it is the governments who tend to screw it all up. I can only hope he took that conversation back to his homeland to let them know Americans are not the war mongering people that is being displayed by our government.

Cannot vouchsafe the accuracy of this translation - er - remember the last 'little misunderstanding' about 'wiping out ' Israel misquoted in the Zionist press?

Quote:
"In the Name of God the Compassionate, the Merciful.

"Upon the anniversary of the birth of Jesus, Son of Mary, the Word of God, the Messenger of mercy, I would like to congratulate the followers of Abrahamic faiths, especially the followers of Jesus Christ, and the people of Britain.

"The Almighty created the universe for human beings and human beings for Himself.

"He created every human being with the ability to reach the heights of perfection. He called on man to make every effort to live a good life in this world and to work to achieve his everlasting life.

"On this difficult and challenging journey of man from dust to the divine, He did not leave humanity to its own devices. He chose from those He created the most excellent as His Prophets to guide humanity.

"All Prophets called for the worship of God, for love and brotherhood, for the establishment of justice and for love in human society. Jesus, the Son of Mary, is the standard-bearer of justice, of love for our fellow human beings, of the fight against tyranny, discrimination and injustice.

"All the problems that have bedevilled humanity throughout the ages came about because humanity followed an evil path and disregarded the message of the Prophets.

"Now as human society faces a myriad of problems and a succession of complex crises, the root causes can be found in humanity's rejection of that message, in particular the indifference of some governments and powers towards the teachings of the divine Prophets, especially those of Jesus Christ.

"The crises in society, the family, morality, politics, security and the economy which have made life hard for humanity and continue to put great pressure on all nations have come about because the Prophets have been forgotten, the Almighty has been forgotten and some leaders are estranged from God.

"If Christ were on earth today, undoubtedly He would stand with the people in opposition to bullying, ill-tempered and expansionist powers.

"If Christ were on earth today, undoubtedly He would hoist the banner of justice and love for humanity to oppose warmongers, occupiers, terrorists and bullies the world over.

"If Christ were on earth today, undoubtedly He would fight against the tyrannical policies of prevailing global economic and political systems, as He did in His lifetime.

"The solution to today's problems is a return to the call of the divine Prophets. The solution to these crises is to follow the Prophets - they were sent by the Almighty for the good of humanity.

"Today, the general will of nations is calling for fundamental change. This is now taking place. Demands for change, demands for transformation, demands for a return to human values are fast becoming the foremost demands of the nations of the world.

"The response to these demands must be real and true. The prerequisite to this change is a change in goals, intentions and directions. If tyrannical goals are repackaged in an attractive and deceptive package and imposed on nations again, the people, awakened, will stand up against them.

"Fortunately, today, as crises and despair multiply, a wave of hope is gathering momentum. Hope for a brighter future and hope for the establishment of justice, hope for real peace, hope for finding virtuous and pious rulers who love the people and want to serve them – and this is what the Almighty has promised.

"We believe Jesus Christ will return, together with one of the children of the revered Messenger of Islam and will lead the world to love, brotherhood and justice.

"The responsibility of all followers of Christ and Abrahamic faiths is to prepare the way for the fulfilment of this divine promise and the arrival of that joyful, shining and wonderful age.

"I hope that the collective will of nations will unite in the not too distant future and with the grace of the Almighty Lord, that shining age will come to rule the earth.

"Once again, I congratulate one and all on the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ. I pray for the New Year to be a year of happiness, prosperity, peace and brotherhood for humanity. I wish you every success and happiness."

To me this is a very inspiring message- and as I posted on another thread (Christmas messages) I think most forum members would agree with the sentiments expressed. Of course many analyse his words for propaganda - but surely the positive strands of this message are the ones that standout. Well, it's all positive so far as i am concerned, but not everyone would see it that way.

LONDON (Hollywood Reporter) - The government has rebuked broadcaster Channel 4 for airing a Christmas message from Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whose previous dismissal of the Holocaust and refusal to abandon the pursuit of a nuclear capability have caused international dismay.

Channel 4 invited Ahmadinejad to deliver its annual "alternative Christmas message," which was broadcast on Christmas Day. In a break with tradition, however, the network did not schedule his address at the same time as the queen delivered her own annual Christmas message.

A spokesman for the foreign office said the invitation would likely cause "offence and bemusement" and that the broadcast's negative impact would be felt on an international scale.

"President Ahmadinejad has during his time in office made a series of appalling anti-Semitic statements," a spokeswoman said.

"The British media are rightly free to make their own editorial choices, but this invitation will cause offence and bemusement not just at home but amongst friendly countries abroad."

Ahmadinejad used the platform to call on Britons to direct themselves to the messages of the prophets, and he blamed the complex problems the world is facing on "the indifference of some governments and powers towards the teachings of the divine prophets, especially those of Jesus Christ."

In what some have read as an attack on the U.S., he added: "If Christ were on Earth today, undoubtedly he would fight against the tyrannical policies of prevailing global economic and political systems, as he did in his lifetime."

Channel 4 head of news Dorothy Byrne defended the broadcast, saying the Iranian premier's views were important.
"As the leader of one of the most powerful states in the Middle East, President Ahmadinejad's views are enormously influential. As we approach a critical time in international relations, we are offering our viewers an insight into an alternative world view."
