Default Need Idea for Christmas Gift Grab-Bag

In my extended family, we have a grab-bag instead of exchanging Christmas gifts with everyone in the family. The gift needs to be something that an adult of either gender could use (the adults buy for their own children separately).

I'm running out of ideas after doing this for years and the thought occurred to me that maybe members on the forum can help me out here.

I'm asking for suggestions and links to websites in the U.S. or Canada where I can order something online. The cost should be $15 -$20 USD.

Anybody?

Thanks in advance...

I work at Pier One Imports so candles and or diffusers are wonderful gifts and we have many of both on clearance.

We have men who come in for them too!

That must be a fun place to work...

I might get this...

Pinecone Hurricane

Clearance $9.98
Instant ambiance. Amber glass hurricane encased in an iron twig and pinecone stand. Just add a pillar candle (sold separately) and bask in its glow.

We've had lots of chocolate as gifts in the past.

It is a risk because some don't really want the calories...

They do and they don't.

Know what I mean??

One of my favs....although our store only has one left, they go quick when they are clearance, so if you are going to get it call the store near you and ask them to hold it for you if they have one.
Some days are more fun than others, very physical job lifting furniture and stock but it keeps me strong!
Good Luck finding something!

I might order it online... I should make up my mind soon...

Yeah, and I bet it's nice to observe people shopping for fun things.

I like going to Whole Foods just to see the children in the grocery carts.

Mel of The Veritas Show (Manticore) if offering gift certificates, memberships to his show. I love this idea, for those who want to listen to the broadcast of interviews. But I guess you need someone in the family who is interested in this. Great idea though.

How about an ounce of silver? A gift that may go up in value! Go to a second hand store to purchase a coin.

i've often given 'silver coins' as 'gifts'

i remember one, i gave to a friend, born in 1966

a silver dollar, minted in the year of their birth,
with 2 people in it, they, always treasured it,
as, their 'lucky coin'

How much does an ounce cost?

The idea is pure genius, but you know what? It might get me into trouble. It might be viewed as symbolic of my status in the family in their eyes, as far as I can tell - that of misguided, misinformed, paranoid, conspiracy theorist.

Ho ho ho Merry Christmas!

Weird.

Looks like you edited while I was responding but the system doesn't say you edited this.

HO! HO! HO! to you also.

I guess you could purchase a one ounce silver coin, like, say the 'Peace' Dollar, denoting your wish for PEACE or as a PEACE OFFERING to your family!

Silver around $18.70 an ounce today.

Gold reached $1171 and hovering around $1165 an ounce today.

Check rates daily here at one metal dealer: http://www.swissamerica.com/

THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING IN THIS ECONOMY!

Maybe Seashore could find a coin with her own birthdate on it!

We all do it.

This is the first time I've ever seen the system edit without denoting the edit. Maybe you did it so quickly after the original, it was thought of as part of the original...
