Default US military shoots down Iranian drone over Iraq

BAGHDAD – The U.S. military says American jets shot down an Iranian unmanned surveillance aircraft last month over Iraqi territory.

Monday's statement says the incident took place Feb. 25 about 60 miles northeast of Baghdad. The Iranian unmanned plane was identified as an "Ababil 3" model.

The U.S. said the unmanned plane had been tracked for more than an hour and was shot down well inside Iraqi territory.

Thanks for this
However - wait and see if Iran says anything about drones over their territory? I feel that this news is more anti-Iran Zionist propaganda.

Hi Kathleen,

We're most probably only aring about this now because Iran did nothing about the incident - that's if the incident really happened.

I agree with one of the other posters that the story is more of a propaganda than a security issue.

The story begs for more questions like, why didn't the US use this incident as an act of war? We all know that the US and Israel are, excuse the pun, dying to go to war with Iran and need any excuse - even a lie like they did in Iraq.

If the US is being more restraint, why? We know that the US is strapped for cash and American bailout money was used to finance massive loans in the region.

Has the foreign policy of the US changed? To what and why?

Best regards,

Steve
