Love and beauty are pervading our world...
Friends ,
Brook posted a wonderfull video about the Omo people on the forum . I was speechless in front of such beauty . This is one of these moments where time seems suspended and you just feel deep Love. Out of this this thread was born. Thanks to you Brook .We shared something meaningfull there . Every day and every minute Love manifests itself . We are sometimes so preoccupied by our daily living that we fail to notice it . The time we spend on " thinking " is robbed away from our awareness of Loving. I invite you to post here your inspiring stories, poetry , music, good news , images , Heart-work or videos that made you heart grow... so we can all remember that behind the wall of smoke there is a sun that shines bright. We only have to re-member our connection to it for through a multitude of wonders Love is at work always . Beauty is the soul's fingers that out of Love makes the universe alive . Love is has no end. Love is present always . With Love and gratitude mudra Brook the honor is yours to share that wonderfull video on this thread . Last edited by mudra; 08-29-2009 at 11:10 PM. |

You Are Me
You are me and I am you. It is obvious that we are inter-are. You cultivate the flower in yourself so that I will be beautiful. I transform the garbage in myself so that you do not have to suffer. I support you you support me. I am here to bring you peace you are here to bring me joy. - Thich Naht Hahn Love always mudra |

Re: Love and beauty are pervading our world...
I am blown away by these beautiful people
No T.V defining what beauty is to them They live in abundance, the Garden of Eden costs nothing to live there, nothing they wear is store bought Their creativity comes from within them as an expression of who they are and what they are feeling I really needed this today.........thanks Brook and Mudra! |

We all live in this world...we just sometimes take it for granted..the beauty is everywhere....we just need to open our eyes to it. It's so hard sometimes..when we are surrounded by the dark energy, or the so called progress that runs our days into nights....shake it...and come back to what is rightfully ours. The simplicity of this beauty is awesome...and it can be had by all...we just need to remind ourselves of the simple beauty that surrounds us at all times...and seek to know it Watching this for me today was an eyeopener...and I choose to seek such beauty..by simply walking in nature...or viewing such videos...to constantly remind myself ...there is more to this life. “In exploring the shared language and poetic sensibilities of all animals, I am working towards rediscovering the common ground that once existed when people lived in harmony with animals. The images depict a world that is without beginning or end, here or there, past or present.”

Re: Love and beauty are pervading our world...
I think that it is a sign from nature... to whom? It could be address to anyone who takes the time to look up and appreciate every little bit of scenery that our wonderful planet is offering us, a sort of thankful greeting, if you will... On the other hand, those who forgot how to look might need a wake up call now and then... What about those who don't know how to take the time, or who just cannot manage to see further than the tip of their nose, in their cases, it might even be a little bit of mocking from the sky. So let us smile back to the sky shall we... ^_^ Love always mudra |

Re: Love and beauty are pervading our world...
Namaste,
Mudra, thank you for this thread, and Brook - it was not accidentally for you to find this video about Omo people and share it with us, I believe. It can be clearly seen were real beauty came from. For them, beauty is a WAY OF LIFE, not some aesthetical theory that alienates the people from the sources of real pure beauty inside us. The “interventionism” of the Omo people on their faces and bodies is profound deeply in their being unseparated part of the nature, of intuitively understanding what beauty is: Love, Truth, Joy, Essence. Their colors and parts of plants on their heads are so tasty arranged that one can make studies to explain this astonishing aesthetical ability, and still will not have the answer – were it came from? - except if one can see and understand the wisdom of the heart. Great thanks to the photographer Hans Sylvester for these pictures. Also, Gregory Colbert’s video Ashes and Snow has something so archetypical and profoundly poetic that made me to “think” that greatest works of art have nothing to do with the mind. It is so subjective and deep, and in the same time so simply. Glory to beauty! Love & Respect Last edited by Oliver; 08-30-2009 at 02:47 PM. |

Re: Love and beauty are pervading our world...
Luminari`s falling in love with the Sand Girl inspired me to post something about what happens when a Man really loves a Woman.
He is Zbigniw Preisner, a polish composer, among all he made all the music for the Krzysztof Kieslowski`s movies. The music is food for love, they say. If there is a proof how Love becomes Beauty, than it can be find in this pieces of most beautiful emotions a man can emanate. Few minutes of pure beauty! Do not listen it - feel it. Love PS: Luminari, my friend, find the Sand Girl. Send her the music. She will paint you in her heart. |

Re: Love and beauty are pervading our world...
PEOPLE OF MAGO AND OMO VALLIES.
Omo people on the border of the National park the lower Omo valley is home to a fascinating mixture of small contrasting tribal groups in Ethiopia. Their life styles are as varied as the people themselves are. The Mago valley lies in one of the most culturally diverse areas in the whole of Africa where many elements of ancient nomadic life styles are still practiced just as they were centuries ago. Seeing these colorful people is a rare experience for people from urban cultures. To the south east is a large ethnic group, the Hamer, who speak a south east Omotic language. They cultivate sorghum and millet in the hills east of the Mago valley and also keep large herds of cattle and goats. On the north east edge of the Mago valley are the Benna, closely related to the Hamer with many cultural similarities. The Hamer wears a variety of colorful ornaments and decorates their hair with colored mud. At he south end of the Mago valley are small offshoot of the Hamer- the Karo. They cultivate the Omo riverbanks and keep flocks of goats and some cattle. The Karo are noted for their colorful body painting. Adjacent to the Karo, where the Mago joins the Omo, are an even smaller group, the Mugujil These people also cultivate sorghum along the river, and keep goats and hunt and fish. read more here: http://www.dakettaethiopia.com/attraction4.html Love always mudra |

Re: Love and beauty are pervading our world...
A Lesson In Love
I watched intently as my little brother was caught in the act. He sat in the corner of the living room, a pen in one hand and my father's brand-new hymnbook in the other. As my father walked into the room, my brother cowered slightly; he sensed that he had done something wrong. From a distance I could see that he had opened my father's new hymnal and scribbled in it the length and breadth of the first page with a pen. Now, staring at my father fearfully, he and I both waited for his punishment. And as we waited, there was no way we could have known that our father was about to teach us deep and lasting lessons about life and family, lessons that continue to become even clearer through the years. My father picked up his prized hymnal, looked at it carefully, and then sat down, without saying a word. Books were precious to him; he was a clergyman and the holder of several degrees. For him, books were knowledge, and yet he loved his children. What he did next was remarkable. Instead of punishing my brother, instead of scolding or yelling or reprimanding, he sat down, took the pen from my brother's hand, and then wrote in the book himself, alongside the scribbles John had made: John's work, 1959, age 2. How many times have I looked into your beautiful face and into your warm, alert eyes looking up at me and thanked God for the one who has now scribbled in my new hymnal. You have made the book sacred, as have your brothers and sister to so much of my life. "Wow," I thought. "This is punishment?" read further : http://www.GAgirl.com/stories/alessoninlove.html Love always mudra |

Re: Love and beauty are pervading our world...
beautiful story...I like this part...
Now I know that through this simple act my father taught us how every event in life has a positive side - if we are prepared to look at it from another angle - and how precious it is when our lives are touched by little hands. But he also taught us about what really matters in life: people, not objects; tolerance, not judgment; love, not anger Last edited by BROOK; 08-31-2009 at 02:33 AM. |

Re: Love and beauty are pervading our world...
Information Please
When I was quite young, my father had one of the first telephones in our neighborhood. I remember well the polished old case fastened to the wall. The shiny receiver hung on the side of the box. I was too little to reach the telephone, but used to listen with fascination when my mother talked to it. Then I discovered that somewhere inside the wonderful device lived an amazing person - her name was "Information, Please" and there was nothing she did not know. "Information, Please" could supply anybody's number and the correct time. My first personal experience with this genie-in the-bottle came one day while my mother was visiting a neighbor. Amusing myself at the tool bench in the basement, I whacked my finger with a hammer. The pain was terrible, but there didn't seem to be any reason in crying because there was no one home to give sympathy. I walked around the house sucking my throbbing finger, finally arriving at the stairway. The telephone! Quickly, I ran for the foot stool in the parlor and dragged it to the landing. Climbing up, I unhooked the receiver in the parlor and held it to my ear. "Information, Please," I said into the mouthpiece just above my head. A click or two and a small clear voice spoke into my ear, "Information." "I hurt my finger," I wailed into the phone. The tears came readily enough now that I had an audience. "Isn't your mother home?" came the question. "Nobody's home but me." I blubbered. "Are you bleeding?" the voice asked. "No," I replied. "I hit my finger with the hammer and it hurts." "Can you open your icebox?" she asked. I said I could. "Then chip off a little piece of ice and hold it to your finger," said the voice. After that, I called "Information, Please" for everything.
