I think it was put here for some purpose long after earth came around. From what you read it appears to be a jump point from there to here. I think it was once part of the asteriod belt and was crafted and then moved here. I have read accounts from historians that the moon wasnt described/not here in distant times past. I now wonder - is there a single moon around other worlds that have life and are at out level of growth?

There are so many well constructed arguments for why and how the moon is NOT a naturally occuring space rock orbiting our planet I don't need to rehash here...refer to the above posts.

It might behoove you to notice however that the two other similar rocky bodies Mars and Venus have no such moons around them. Diemos and Phobos of Mars are tiny and are not comparable to Earth's satellite in any way.

Our earth has a past that many of us cannot concieve of. Civilizations have risen and fallen, creatures weighing hundreds of Tons once thundered across the ground and bellowed into the prehistoric night. It was covered in ICE....was one large swamp....the air was different. The history of our planet must be amazing!

Knowing what I do about this universe...it would not surprise me one little bit to find out the moon is artificial...or artificially placed here. In fact its a rather neat idea and theres alot of evidence to support it!

Just a thought.
Return of the Jedi: in the forest moon of Endor the rebels invaded to destroy the new death stars "shield generator" and commence attacking the station before it was finished.

So what if, the "prison planet" we live on needs an invisible fence or net that requires a "shield generator" that is positioned on the moon base?

Often it has been recorded in legends and tales of old that the moon has left its orbit and returned.

Has anyone read "Who Built the Moon" by Christopher Knight & Alan Butler?
ISBN 1 84293 132 6

Quite an interesting read on this subject.

Its.........a moon. No, really.

What I want to know is not "what is the moon?" because I already know the answer - I want to know "who is visiting the moon, why, and what are those construction like things?"
That certainly made me laugh...

"It wasn't towed here"!!!
