Roger Bilham from university of Colorado says there is a 720km/h weave heading towards Asia and Hawaii and that it is not big at the moment but can get up to 10 meters once it is closer to the shore

The threat is still there as it is not yet over. http://hitsunami.info/

Wave arrival estimates (water is receeding, discolorized, reef showing):
11:05 a.m. Hilo, 11:20 a.m. Maui, 11:35 a.m. Oahu, 11:50 a.m. Kauai, 9-12 ft. surge estimates.

All state parks closed. Hilo airport closed at 6 a.m. All vessels are asked to evacuate state harbors. City bus service is running with additional busses available. USPS delivery WILL commence for areas outside of emergency zones. All ILH events postponed. OIA events will not proceed. Kamehameha Ho'olaule'a will proceed. Unconferenz 2010 postponed. HMSA closed, emergency only. Beaches and low lying areas have been evacuated.

Yea but in the end he was the cool one having a paddle while everyone else was panicking over what turned out to be no big deal

The reporters love to hype up the story

Yea of course me too but they missed out on reporting a big story.
I'm still listening to them and they are still trying to keep the fear factor going

They'll probably take a big U-turn and switch back to the situation in Chile, however that's going.

Don't forget they are Americans so everything is the most spectacular and dramatic if it involves them
They are saying people in the boats are crazy coming back in
