Default "War is a Racket" Major General Smedley Butler

"War is a Racket"

Quote:
The real speech re-created by an actor

If you know your history, you know that in 1934 there was an attempted coup in the United States that was thwarted largely due to the efforts of U.S. Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler (ret.)

Look it up.

Among other things, Butler was only one of 19 people ever awarded the Medal of Honor twice and the only person to be awarded a Marine Corps Brevet Medal and a Medal of Honor for two different actions.

After it dawned on him how his heroism and the heroism of the troops under his command had been misused, he wrote a book called "War is a Racket" which I can virtually guarantee you never heard about in school.

Butler concluded there are only two reasons to ever take up arms:

1. To defend the country against real - not manufactured - attacks
2. To defend the Bill of Rights

Sounds good to me.

"War is a racket." That is the theme of a speech that became a booklet published in 1935 by Maj. General Smedley Butler. Here, it is delivered as the original speech by actor Graham Frye.

Nice post. General Butler

I hope soldiers and military people catch on in a big way. War is a lucrative racket. Human life is currency - sick, .

peaceandlove, I clicked on a google ad for Lockheed Martin a couple of days ago. You should watch this.... sooooo insane....

Lots of resources flow into the paradigm.

I really like how Butler sets a few things straight.

Blessings Tango,

Another person who "gets it".

A little history

People complain about taxes, but rarely think about the US tax system and how it came into being.

The Federal Reserve, the draft, Wall Street (as we know it today), modern PR and the IRS were all created around the same time and for the same purpose.

To railroad the US population into supporting the British Empire during World War I.

World War I was between two imperial powers - Germany and England. The US had no reason whatsoever to be involved in it, thus the need for ambitious social engineering.

Since World War I, the system put in place has made your money - and your life - the property of the federal government and whoever can manipulate it. At least, that's how they look at it.

This speaker, a Native American, gets it.

Thanks No Caste,

I watched the video you posted above. It eerily represents the move toward a Robot army. The exoskeleton is just the start.

My grandfather told my father to stay out of war. That it was just to make people rich. I've always been fascinated by military technology, strategy, organization, logistics, discipline, etc...but I have absolutely hated the carnage and destruction of war. When I learned about international financiers instigating wars...and financing both sides...I just about threw-up. Walking Civil War battlefields was truly sobering.

I love watching videos like this:

I am utterly amazed at nuclear submarines...but just one of them could vaporize many countries. Military technology is out of control in my view...and that's just considering the technology which we know about. But how in the hell do you put the genie back in the bottle? This really could be the end, folks. Has human extinction occured before on Earth? Some say more than once...and that Earth has been repeatedly colonized by human beings. As with most things...I simply don't know.

General Smedley Butler is a monumental hero...but is there a monument in his honor? I hadn't even heard of him until I listened to Bill Still and Alex Jones.

In the past 100 years...how many people have died in war? 150 million? Is this figure correct? What's wrong with this picture? The human race needs to evolve just a little bit more.

I've recently started to think of myself as a Citizen of Earth...and under the U.S. Constitution...in a non-nationalistic sense. How about a flag with a color photo of Earth from a satellite in geosynchronous orbit? I don't want to fight with, and kill, anyone...including reptilians. We should use the military technology for airshows and space-travel...and possibly to defend the solar system.
