Mercury is very instrumental in Kundalini awakening.
It is called the Quick silver ,that shoots up the Shashuma or middle pillar, and crosses the Ford through the double suicide doors.

Ford
Lincoln
Mercury

Cinderella (the lady of the cinders) obediently serves by the fireplace at the command of her two stepsisters. The sisters are the named Ida and Pingala channels, that reside on each side as sun and moon polarities. I will leave the rest to contemplate , as Cinderella ( Mercury) meets the prince and awakens to her full potential as Kundalini.

This is the symbol for Mercury.
