Re: Tolkien`s world
In a hole in the ground, there lived a hobbit.
I consider J R R Tolkien hit the nail on the head about the current situation, and possibly foresaw what is unfolding as human nature. The corperate dragon prepared to kill all in order to own all the gold. I feel I/We have crawled out of a hole in the ground to take on the dragon. I prefer my life in the shires , but needs must, I operate in the invisable, the dragon doesn't know this place, it's all in our hands, and is up to ourselves, fear been the biggest obstacle. hobbit |

Re: Tolkien`s world
I saw the 3 LOTR movies (and Bakshi's version as well) and read The Hobbit in high school, i enjoyed them very much.
Never read/saw Lewis except indirectly through the "Epic Movie" satire which can be funny when it's not too crude. |

Re: Tolkien`s world
I read pretty much everything from Tolkien. I am still drawn to it and still amazed how he knew a lot of background stuff of what is going on in the world... And he poured it beautifully in his works...
My favorite movie scene was when in Return of the king ,on the crowning of Aragorn, now already high king of Gondor and Middle earth Aragorn says to hobbits : " My friends ,you bow to no one!" and then kneel down and all the tall folks and elves and dwarfs knelt down to them, the smallest of actors of the scene. It gives a strong message about friendship, and absence of ego. |
