Hi Rocky I have a lot of respect for you and posts that you have made.
It just seems that closing down our home is an over reaction to a few challenges.
If we all move then then the challenges remain.
A story.
I had in my varied career a Residential Home for the Elderly. I took on the old staff hen I bought it, they were experienced I was not.
I never had to dimiss anyone.
If a new member of staff was not performing to the high standards of the original ones, then they took them aside and advised them, if no heed was taken to friendly advice then then they were quietly sidelined till they just left, I never had to fire anyone.
Some new people here and yes some old interacted in an immature way, no need to clear the whole house out and begin again. doesnt make sense from a business or ethical point of view. When you start to loose people like Mudra ( a person full of love who never harmed any one) the alarm bells should surely ring loud.
I have respect for our founder members and dont doubt Bill good intention but surely it is madness to throw out the baby with the bath water.
The situation would have calmed down given time.
This forum is visited by thousands of people. If we cant get on here we wont get on in another forum. We have a responsibility to be responsible I know you are Rocky.

I have to say I dislike the design a LOT of AV2 ... why not keep the current design? One of the reasons I liked this forum was the design which is very harmonious

AV2 design is based on Apple (Mac) design .. a platform that I completely dislike with a passion (bordering on hate).. I'm a computer geek so apple computers to me are an insult to my intelligence .. for Pete's sake Apple design looks like a washing machine. I know on Bill's mac it must look great and all but on my PC not so much... Yea sure it is a subjective feeling but it matters to me .. a LOT on how things look and feel whenever I have to focus on them

As for the format? I am all for invite only format... free for all doesn't work in internet settings without serious plunge of energy and lots of flamewars.. as I've been involved with online communities (writing,moderating,administrating) for over 12 years I've seen it happen many times over. The solution is always tight restrictions and ban happy admins

I’ve just read those rules. They are not far off most forum rules. Seems to me they have covered all the bases with the exception of one (below*). I think that the rule are fair and still leaves plenty of leeway. It’s basically about common sense curtsey and reasonable posting etiquette.

I think people are paying to much attentions to something taken out of context.

Fred, I can understand your frustration towards members that are tacking things out of context or jumping to conclusions. However you need to redirect some of that venting to the root cause. Everything compounding the members angst is due to very poor PR.

Again I share your frustration but fairs fair with the allocation of blame. I appreciate the free work done by the mods but the heartache is due in part by them. Perhaps a lesson can be learnt as who makes announcements and more importantly WHEN.

I’ve been tricked. I thought this place was a step in the right direction. Other than the tons of info, I have always admired the freedom of speech because it clarifies information and allows points of views to be discussed and considered. Various perspectives have always provided foresight. I don’t know what made me think people here were mature enough to take criticism and respect another’s point of view. This is the second website I’ve have grown accustom to just to see it fall apart as soon as I was settling in.

I don’t understand what the problem is, if the owners are trying to promote any agenda by eliminating freedom of speech and opinions, then I guess this place is no better than the other problematic businesses in this greed ridden, selfish, discriminating world. I’ve guided a lot of important people to view this site and to see it operating in this condition is very disheartening. I thought people here were above the pity issues I see being discussed. If this is any indication of how our light warriors/workers function then the world is most definitely doomed if we can’t even deal with, or ignore instigators. Egotism seems to be in full swing now days. I tell you…this world is full of hypocrisy. *sighs*

Now, Avalon1 and Avalon2 remind me of a married couple who decided to divorce. They did not want to resolve problems, looking at their issues and dealing with painful feelings. They did not deal with those feelings and issues after divorce, either. Instead, they run quickly into other relationships and got married. And both of them divorced faster then they could say Robert Redford. Why? Because those feelings with underlying issues went underground, and appeared with magnified intensity very quickly. This will happen for Avalon2.

actually there with be a lot of stories put on the shelf to collect dust but for any thread that is important to you, it will be brought to life...

i think the new avalon will be like it was when it started and people were fevourishly starting ground crews and meetings in their local areas. information seemed valid and the situation pressing. al the way through 09 nothing massive happened and the site opted for a subscription, this in my opinion os hwere it all fell apart.

i was in the flow of the forum and the mindset then it went to subscription and a lot of people stopped coming (me included). that broke a lot of people up and our ground crew basically fell apart after that. you cant change the playing feild halfway through. mel at veritas started witha subscription and its staying that way so you know whetre yo ustand. avalon was like a yoyo.

i hope AV2 will be more steady for the remaining time that we have electricity/free uncencored internet.

Hello Pineal,

Actually I did not start with a subscription. I started my forum (and the show) absolutely free, but time and resources became limited after 6 months. That's when I adopted the subscription model, and that's what has kept the project alive. And I thank you for being a member as well.

If I am not mistaken, one must be an AV2 member and request one of one's own threads to transfer. i.e. If Mudra was AV2 member she could request Sanctuary thread to be there. If I was member, I could not bring her thread there.

I understood it differently that if a topic came up and the original poster wasn't around it could still be brought back into the discussion...

Remember "all material posted on the site is the property or Project Avalon", so if it needs to be used in a discussion I don't think anything will stop the mods from moving it across for you...

You know I start very few threads and step into topics that interest me, when I see something new related to a topic I read I don't start something new I search for the original thread to add it to.

Friends, I would like to believe this thread is contributing toward unity, and not toward divisions.
I know, I feel that all posters here wish the best for Avalon mission, those who are for Avalon2 and also those who are for this Avalon.
The cruelest and unavoidable law of 3D - The Dichotomy - has touched us and this beautiful forum. We confronted our opinions, but I want most strongly to believe that we do not confronted our hearts, our love among us, and the respect we share for one another. Our integrity as human beings must be untouched, and i believe it is like that.
Personally, i didn`t succeed to control all of my emotions, even though i promised not to enter further polemics and divisions, and i posted this thread. I hope i didn`t make a mistake. If yes, please forgive me. I feel the responsibility most deeply. If not, my true believe and hope is that this can serve us as a point of catharsis, which would be beautiful.
We shall all must to make our individual decisions, obviously. My heart is sad knowing that some of us will go different paths, no matter which one, but different.
I believe both Avalon and Avalon2 has the right to be given a chance, but it is probably impossible.
I appeal once more, most friendly, Bill and Gareth to come and calm down the situation, to assure us that nobody is manipulating us, this is the key issue, as I appeal to all of you to try to find your personal decisions and contribute toward relaxing all the negative energies, with a will to transform it into a new possibility for more love, truth, wisdom...for times that are in front of us, filled with challenges. We all want to learn, to grown, to be wise, to prepare our selves and to share unselfishly what we have inside our hearts.
