Hi all

Gareth from Manchester here.

I am a unemployed design engineer with a sheetmetal background. Since November i have read, watched and tried to understand the topics that seem to dominate out WWW. 90% of it is based on USA, How can we relate this to the UK. What stories we have UK based?

so if every one in the midlands meets up ware would be a good place?

i think that if this is to be a sure unation...we should start making some suggestions...

so far ive only seen the one thread in hear for Derby.
its pretty much central to the midlands and easily accessable via public transport...

so if it is this place or could be a suitable meeting venue...

what else is needed to make this work...

postcodes maybe...a list of speakers n subjects ect....

volunteers to help make it more established...

advertising.... sponserships... wow... maybe the next best thing to live music...lol...

i m all up for re education....

Did you hear the recent interview with Robbie on abovetopsecret.com? Very, very interesting, and shows what a fantastic guy he is, quite apart from his singing - but we all knew that didn't we.
Did you also hear that Above Top Secret got Robbie to sign an exclusivity deal so that when users signed on to their forum they get lots of great pop-up windows with his new LP. All [not so insignificant] proceeds from the advertising go where they've always gone - to about 5 of the forum owners.

Nothing like a healthy dose of blatant commercialism with your UFO gossip I find.

Hi....I was born and brought up in Bromsgrove. Depends how old
you are....but I might even know you?

Re. what you said about the advertising and ATS. This doesn't worry
me in the slightest. I imagine that it's Robbie's way of giving some
financial support to the forum. And the forum supporting Mr R Williams'
latest artistic endeavour.

Does Robbie sing/performs JUST for the money?
I believe he is pretty rich already.
Does the ATS forum exist as a kind-of public service
or are they JUST after money?

You decide....lol....

Heheh - Redditch was one of the Newtowns compared to Bromsgrove - so I guess you got out to the posh part of Worcestershire/Birmingham

Have PM'd you with details. If you went to North Bromsgrove High school in the 80s [in my 30s] we may have passed?!

Yup - I did decide 4 years ago when I left the site and never went back. It's not just the commercial side that taints things - I think the agendas when a forum gets that big shift somewhat. I have no issue with sites making funds - but when it gets to the point where they promise administrators shares in ad revenue - that's a conflict of interest in my book.

I should add I was attempting an element of sarcastic, irony in the response... I have no idea what RW arrival has done to ATS - I just got told the advertising system moved up a gear at the same time by someone that got banned for wanting to discuss it - classic move by ATS admins [Inc] from my experience.

ok fair enough...I don't know much about ATS....but my gut reaction is to
trust Robbie Williams.

Sorry if I went in a bit hard on you....

Didn't think along those lines - just my deadpan humour with a hint of ATS exasperation I'm afraid

Anyway - I grew up in Bromsgrove, lived in Yorks for a decade now in Notts... so count me in in any Midlands meet ups.

Welcome vericocha.........

I'm not very active on this forum at the moment, but spotted your post and as I too am from the Midlands (Redditch) I wanted to say hello.
